📌Theme: Foundations of Data Analysis for Postgraduate Research
This workshop is designed to equip postgraduate students with essential knowledge and practical skills in data analysis, a critical component of high-quality academic research. One of the primary objectives is to develop students’ ability to align research objectives, hypotheses, and data analysis techniques effectively. Many postgraduate students struggle not with data collection, but with selecting appropriate analytical methods and interpreting statistical outputs correctly. This workshop addresses these gaps by providing a clear foundation in both descriptive and inferential analysis.
In addition, this workshop aims to equip postgraduate students with essential foundational knowledge in data analysis to strengthen their research competence. Participants will gain an understanding of the role of data analysis in research, different types of data, and appropriate statistical techniques. The workshop also focuses on interpreting key statistical outputs while helping students avoid common analytical mistakes to enhance the quality and credibility of their research.
The importance of attending this workshop lies in its practical orientation. Students will not only understand statistical concepts but also learn how to avoid common errors that often lead to weak analysis or thesis rejection. Ultimately, this workshop supports postgraduate students in producing rigorous, credible, and publication-ready research outputs, thereby strengthening their academic and professional development.
