Meet the Ibex — a mountain goat many people have never heard of, yet one of the most fearless climbers in the world.

The ibex lives in some of the most extreme environments on earth — steep cliffs, rocky mountains, and near-vertical surfaces where even humans struggle to stand. What makes it extraordinary is its ability to climb almost impossible terrain using its specially adapted hooves, incredible balance, and sharp instinct.

It doesn’t wait for safe paths.
It doesn’t complain about the height.
It doesn’t turn back because the journey looks dangerous.

The ibex climbs — because that is its nature.

Every day, it faces heights where one wrong step could mean failure… yet it moves forward with precision, confidence, and focus. Not because it is reckless, but because it has mastered its environment through resilience and consistency.

The Forgotten 43: When Promised Empowerment Turns into Silent Injustice

In a nation that speaks tirelessly about inclusivity and empowerment, the reality for 43 MITRA grant recipients tells a very different story. Each of these organizations was proudly handed a Surat Setuju Terima (SST) — an official letter confirming their approval for government funding under the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA). Yet months later, the funds have not arrived.

These grantees — many of whom are community-based organizations working on education, youth development, and socio-economic upliftment — have been left stranded. They planned their empowerment programs, scheduled trainers, and committed resources in good faith, trusting the system. What they received instead was silence.

The instructions were clear. Once the SST was issued, disbursement should follow. But somewhere along the administrative chain, deviation occurred. The funds vanished into a fog of “process delays,” “technical errors,” and “pending verifications.” No official notice. No timeline. No accountability.

This isn’t just about money — it’s about trust. Trust that small organizations placed in government agencies to deliver on promises of empowerment. Trust that the marginalized would not be sidelined again.

When empowerment funds fail to reach the ground, it is not just a bureaucratic failure; it is a betrayal of the very communities the program was meant to uplift. The government must immediately address this injustice — provide transparency, explain the deviation from instructions, and ensure that every approved recipient receives what was promised.

The Forgotten 43 deserve answers, not excuses. Empowerment delayed is empowerment denied.

Where Are the Voices of Our Elected Representatives?

What’s most painful in this unfolding injustice is not just the silence of the system — it’s the silence of those who were elected to speak for the voiceless.

Where are our Indian Members of Parliament (MPs) and state assembly representatives (YBs) when the community needs them most? How can 43 officially approved grants — each backed by a Surat Setuju Terima — go unpaid without a single question raised in Parliament?

Have our leaders forgotten that their mandate was built on the hope of empowering the very communities now being neglected? The absence of debate, the refusal to question, and the quiet compliance in the face of clear administrative failure — all reveal a deeper rot in representation.

When the supposed defenders of community welfare remain silent, it becomes the duty of non-Indian MPs and leaders — those who truly uphold Madani values — to take up this matter. This is no longer a “community issue.” It is a Malaysian issue of governance, justice, and accountability.

The Madani Government prides itself on compassion, inclusiveness, and integrity. But compassion cannot exist behind closed doors, inclusiveness cannot be selective, and integrity cannot coexist with silence. The government owes the people — all people — an explanation.

This is not the time for silence or political convenience. It is the time for conscience, for action, and for solidarity across all communities. Because when injustice is allowed to continue in silence, it is not just one community that suffers — it is the soul of a nation that withers. #
