Great spaces do more than look good. They shape the way we live, work, connect, and experience the world around us.
At Raffles University’s Faculty of Built Environment and Regenerative Design, students learn to combine creativity, functionality, and sustainability to design spaces that make a meaningful impact on people and communities.
Whether your passion lies in interior design or creating a more sustainable built environment, your journey starts here.

Behind every pitch is a person. 📸
We loved hosting the Projects for Happiness 2.0 pitching session, but some of the best moments happened away from the presentations.
The nervous laughs before stepping up. The relieved smiles afterwards. The candid conversations between sessions. The friendships forming between students from different universities who had never met before that morning.
These are the moments that often go unseen, yet they are just as important as the ideas being presented.
This is what community looks like before it becomes a project. It is also why Projects for Happiness matters. Not only because of the grants awarded, but because it creates opportunities for young people from across Malaysia to come together, share ideas, and discover a common purpose.
To every student who pitched, supported a teammate, shared a conversation, or simply brought positive energy into the room, thank you for being part of the experience. 💛

Design is never just about what you make. It is about why you continue making it and how you grow through the process.
At Raffles University, we believe design education extends beyond the classroom. It is shaped through exposure, dialogue, and engagement with real world creative practice.
This June, we invite you to “Past, Present, Future”, a design sharing session with Jay Lim and Vivian Toh, founders of CUTOUT Magazine, TSUBAKI Studio, and HASURISO.
As part of our commitment to connecting students with meaningful industry perspectives, this session explores what it takes to build and sustain a creative practice, from uncertain beginnings and defining moments to growth, evolution, and renewed direction.
Drawing from their experiences in publishing, independent practice, and creative direction, Jay and Vivian will share insights into how designers navigate change, develop their creative voice, and respond to an evolving design landscape.
Whether you are starting out or rethinking your path, this session offers an opportunity to reflect, question, and expand your understanding of design and creative practice.
Date: 3 June 2026

No SPM? No Problem. Your Path Still Leads Here. 🎓
Not everyone learns in the same way, and that has never meant the door to higher education is closed.
Some people learn best by doing. Some understand better through practical experience rather than long hours in a classroom. Others simply need a different environment to discover what they are capable of. That is exactly where TVET can make a difference.
At Raffles University, our TVET programmes offer a genuine university learning experience without SPM being the only pathway forward.
Join us at the TVET Info Day on 27th June 2026 from 10am to 4pm and discover the opportunities available to you. Bring your questions, bring your parents, and bring your uncertainties too. We are here to guide you through the possibilities.
What to expect on the day:

Happiness, it seems, is best experienced in person.
Raffles University was honoured to host the Projects for Happiness 2.0 pitching session organised by My Starfish Foundation, welcoming ten student teams from five Malaysian universities to our campus, including UiTM, IMU, UTHM, and UTM.
Throughout the session, students presented community-driven initiatives that reflected both creativity and compassion. From improving community livelihoods to advocating mental wellbeing and celebrating arts and culture, the ideas shared were thoughtful, purposeful, and grounded in genuine human connection.
What made the experience especially meaningful was witnessing young people speak about kindness, empathy, and social change with such conviction and clarity. It served as a timely reminder of the role universities can play in shaping not only capable graduates, but also socially conscious individuals who are willing to contribute back to the community.
Congratulations to all the winning teams. The grants may mark the beginning of the journey, but the impact of these ideas has already begun.
