20260410 Hilltop School's 'Mini" Hari Raya Celebrations 2026

Hilltop School celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri today (10/04/2026) at school

Our celebration started off with pre-preparation activities yesterday where some of the snacks served in today's celebration was prepared 'hands on' by the children themselves guided by their teachers. (psst... pre-preparation and behind the scenes photos will also be posted later 😉 )

Today, our celebration began with everyone gathering in the garden to start off our event by singing 'Selamat Hari Raya' & 'Balik Kampung'. After which the children were treated to a 'sparkler' display as part of our 'opening ceremony'.

After the garden, everyone gathered in the music hall for our 'Mini Open House' where we enjoyed various types of 'kuih raya', snacks and desserts including the snacks which were prepared by the children themselves.

Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we are very happy that we were able to give all the children to opportunity to experience and learn about each others culture and in the long run, instill a sense of friendship and racial harmony with each other.

We would like to give a big shout out to our parents for dressing up your children in their beautiful traditional / cultural costumes and also who some of whom contributed additional food & snacks that added to our celebration. We sincerely appreciate your constant support toward your children and Hilltop School. Thank you!

20260226 - HILLTOP SCHOOL'S 'MINI' CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION 2026

We celebrated Chinese New Year today at Hilltop !

Hilltop celebrated Chinese New Year today 26/02/2026. This year, due to the fasting month of Ramadhan as well as availability issues with the lion dance troupe, our celebration was done internally on a small scale just for the children.

The children came to school dress in various Chinese costumes, ethnical traditional costumes, Chinese New Year themed clothing as well as beautiful casual wear. We can see a lot of effort put in by parents to ensure your children looked their best for our celebration.

Our event started with our 5+ classes lining up in front of the school and everyone else gathering in the garden to welcome the lion dance troupe.

The lion dance troupe from the Persatuan Tarian Singa Emas Johor Bahru entertained everyone with various dances and skills as well as comical antics which made even the most timid of children laugh and enjoy themselves. After entertaining the children in the garden, they even took the time to visit each individual class to allow the children to get up close and personal with the 'lions'.

All children (and staff included) truly enjoyed this simple yet fun celebration and we are sure that everyone had a fun day.

We would like to thank all parents for taking the effort to prepare and dress up your children in the various beautiful costumes for our event today. We hope for your continuous support in our upcoming events and activities.

20260213 BUBBLE ACTIVITY DAY

We had a 'Bubbly Bubble Day' today!

Hilltop organized a special 'Bubble Activity Day' today for all the children to enjoy and have a little bit of fun before the Chinese New Year holidays.

The children came out to the garden with their respective age groups and had a fun time making and playing bubbles together.

After about a month since starting school, all the children (including our new students) have adapted well with their classmates, teachers and the school environment.

We hope to see many more happy faces in our upcoming activities to come after the holidays.

20260205 - FIRE SAFETY & EMERGENCY EVACUATION EXERCISE

Hilltop School conducted our 'Fire Safety & Emergency Evacuation' Exercise today. This activity is a mandatory part of our ongoing 'Safety Programme' which includes fire safety, emergency procedures, personal safety, health, etc... and is conducted periodically throughout the school year.

Today's activity introduces the various aspects of fire safety to the children. The children were taught the causes of fire, the 'do's and do not's, basic fire prevention and also taught about our school's emergency evacuation procedures in event of an emergency. The children were taught about our national emergency number, '999' and situations that permit the use of this number. They were also introduced to the various fire fighting equipment available at Hilltop School such as the different types of fire extinguishers, the fire hydrant and fire hose.

The children were then given a live demonstration on the usage of fire extinguishers and how to put out a small fire*. They also had the opportunity to 'have a feel' using the fire hose.

Everyone had a fun and exciting day and we hope that with activities such as these, the children will understand the importance of fire safety and be aware of what needs to be done in event of any emergency.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Our fire fighting demonstration was conducted in a controlled and safe environment with safety strictly taken into account. Please do not imitate or conduct similar activities without proper training.

In a 'blink of the eyes', yet another school year has ended - signifying the graduation of our 5+ Class of 2025. It has been an honour and a privilege for our teachers and staff to be part of your children's development since they entered Hilltop School. We hope that the children enjoyed their early education here with us at Hilltop School and we sincerely hope that they will bring with them the many happy memories they have experienced with us.

20250822 MUSIC ACTIVITY WITH TEACHERS FROM THE JAPANESE SCHOOL, JOHOR

Hilltop School together with Ms. Hisae Kozohara, a music teacher with the Japanese School, Johor organized a fun 'Music Activity Day' as part of a cultural exchange between both parties.

This activity conducted with our 5+ classes introduced our children to a little bit about Japan and some Japanese songs whilst at the same time allowing the teachers from the Japanese School the opportunity to experience conducting a music activity / session in English.

The children sang some songs as well as experienced some musical activities and were also treated to a 'mini-concert performance' by Ms. Hisae and her team singing songs in English.

Everyone had an enjoyable day full of new experiences and fun.

Brief History

Hilltop School has a long standing relationship with the Japanese School of Johor having hosting many exchange opportunities for the teachers and students of the Japanese School, Johor to further improve their English through activities with our children. We hope that this relationship will continue on as both parties will be able to benefit and gain new experiences in the near future.

20250814 MEASLES & RUBELLA SUPPLEMENTARY IMMUNISATION CAMPAIGN

Hilltop School was approached by representatives from the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) as part of their outreach programme in the nationwide Measles & Rubella Supplementary Immunisation Campaign for our eligible children to take their immunisation in school.

Thanks to the support and interest of our parents, a total of 43 eligible students from Hilltop School underwent their immunisation today 14 August 2025 at school.
