🌿 In his graduation project, Soul of Sarawak — Rediscover Sarawak Through Kuching, Sui Siang turns his lens towards his hometown, documenting the land, wildlife, culture, and everyday life of Sarawak through visual storytelling.

From the rich ecosystems of the Bornean rainforest to the evolving cityscape of Kuching, each photograph reveals a different side of Sarawak. Beyond its natural beauty, his work captures multicultural communities, human stories, and the quiet connections between people and their surroundings.

Through this project, Sui Siang hopes to challenge the perception of Sarawak as “remote” or “underdeveloped” and invite viewers to rediscover its true identity—a place where nature, tradition, and modern life continue to coexist and evolve.

For Sui Siang, photography is more than documentation; it is a way of preserving emotions, connecting people with places, and sharing the stories of home.

🌿 在毕业作品《砂拉越之魂——经由古晋重新发现砂拉越》中，来自古晋的 Sui Siang 将镜头转向自己的家乡，以影像记录砂拉越的土地、自然生态、多元文化与日常生活。

从婆罗洲热带雨林的丰富生命，到不断发展的古晋城市面貌，每一张照片都呈现着砂拉越不同的一面。除了自然风景，他也将镜头对准多元族群、人文故事，以及人与环境之间真实而细腻的联系。

Sui Siang 希望通过这次创作，打破大众对砂拉越“偏远”或“落后”的刻板印象，邀请观众重新认识这片土地——一个让自然、传统与现代生活共存，并持续成长的地方。对 Sui Siang 而言，摄影不只是记录，更是保存情感、连接人与地方，以及诉说家乡故事的一种方式。
