HAPPY RETIREMENT
All members of the Department of Biosciences would like to express our highest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Adibah Binti Yahya, University Lecturer (DS13), for her invaluable service, dedication, and contributions throughout her tenure at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, from 3 November 2000 to 25 February 2026.
Although her retirement officially began in February, we were delighted to gather today to celebrate and bid her a proper farewell.
We wish her continued good health, happiness, and precious moments with her beloved family.
Thank you for your years of service and commitment. You will be greatly missed.

Pharma in Real Life : Exclusive Visit to Duopharma HAPI
On 4th Dec 2025, 10 Pharmaceutical Biotechnology students from UTM had the incredible opportunity to visit Duopharma HAPI, Glenmarie, accompanied by Dr. Mohd Helmi Sani.
Welcomed warmly by Mr. Ashraaf and hosted by an amazing team, students were treated to engaging briefings by representatives from various departments – Production, QC Lab, Formulation, and Analytical Labs – followed by a guided tour of the facility.
From experiencing full PPE gowning to touring labs and production lines, students made the most of the visit by actively engaging and asking meaningful questions.
Huge thanks to the Duopharma HAPI team for the generous hospitality and insightful sessions. It was truly a visit filled with knowledge, exposure, and inspiration!

Exploring Innovation: UTM Industrial Biology Students at Insulet Factory Tour
6th January 2025
A group of 20 final-year students from the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology program, accompanied by Ts. Dr. Syazwani Itri Amran and Dr. Mohd Helmi Sani, had the opportunity to visit Insulet Malaysia recently.
The group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Ragvinder Singh and Ms. Uma Muthalu, who hosted the visit. The session featured an insightful sharing by Mr. Daniel Lang, Director of Manufacturing, on the history of Insulet and the development of their insulin-delivery innovation – Omnipod 5.
The students were taken on a facility tour, where they observed the end-to-end manufacturing process of the Omnipod device — from component assembly to packaging.
