Weâve Grown â and So Has Our Space
Chateau Play has officially moved from Eco Botanic to our new home at Sunway Boulevard 88!
What started as a small space with just four walls has now blossomed into a 2-storey learning environment, thoughtfully prepared for our children. One of our favorite additions? An outdoor balcony within our premise â a space where little ones can explore, move, and connect with nature through meaningful outdoor activities.
Our Learning Journey So Far
Over the past months, our children have been on beautiful learning adventures:
From âAll About Myselfâ â discovering family, body parts, the 5 senses, and emotions,
To experiencing cultural celebrations like Chinese New Year and Malay culture,
And diving into the wonders of the animal kingdom đž
Whatâs Next?
As we step into the second half of the year, even more exciting explorations await:
âď¸ Transportation
đŠâđ Community Helpers
đ Travel Around the World
âď¸ Seasons and moreâŚ
Each theme is carefully designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a deep love for learning through play đ
Enrolment Now Open
We are opening up more spots in our new space, and trial classes are now available.
If youâve been waiting for the right time to start your childâs journey with us â this might just be it.
đŠ Reach out to us to find out more or to book a trial session.
This week at Chateau Play, we went on a little adventure inspired by We're Going on a Bear Hunt đť
From grassy plains to the ocean, swamp, jungle, and Arctic⌠the children journeyed through the animal kingdom before arriving at the mysterious bear cave.
âUh ohâŚâ âSwishy swashyâŚâ âSplash sploshâŚâ
The repeating rhythm of the story helps children build working memory â remembering what comes first, what comes next â while simple phrases keep even our youngest learners engaged and participating.
At the âbear caveâ, with torch lights in hand, they discover:
one shiny wet nose
two big furry ears
two big goggly eyes
More than just a story, this is child-led exploration through play. As children recreate and extend the story in their own way, they build creativity, language, and confidence â forming the foundation for long-term learning.
If you are curious how child led play works, we are now open for May trial classes â come join us in experiencing the magic!

23 May: Land Transportation â vroom vroom! exploring cars, roads, and movement through fun, hands-on play

⨠We also offer weekday playgroup trials (1â3yo) if youâd like to experience a more regular rhythm with us!
This week, we stepped into a new theme â our Safari animal exploration đŚđŚ đŚ
What excited the children most wasnât a specific âtoyâ, but a Safari jeepâŚ
This âjeepâ was once just a large meeting table â
one that was left behind when we first took over the atelier.
Heavy, fixed, and seemingly meant for only one purpose.
But instead of removing it, we chose to pause and ask:
What else can this become?
And so, over time, it transformed.
During our Ocean Animals theme, it became our very own "sea life"
In our Malay Culture Week, it turned into a Kampung house.
In our Arctic exploration, it was reimagined as a ski resort.
And this week, it became a Safari jeep â ready for adventure.
The children climbed on, took on roles, decided where to go,
and built stories together as they journeyed through their safari.
What matters to us is not what an object is,
but how a child learns to see it.
When we define a table as just a table,
its possibilities end there.
But when we step back, shift our perspective,
and allow imagination to take the leadâ
the same object can become anything.
And this is what we hope to nurture in our children:
the ability to think beyond fixed definitions,
to imagine freely, and to create meaning from the world around them.
In this kind of environment,
children are not just participating in activitiesâ
they are expressing, connecting, problem-solving, and making sense of their experiences.
If youâve been curious about how learning can look and feel different,
we warmly invite you to come experience it with us đż
We offer trial sessions (TuesdayâThursday | 9:30â11:30am),
and weekend themed playdates for families to join as well.

Weâre going on a Bear Hunt⌠and youâre invited!
To wrap up our Animal Kingdom series, weâre bringing one of our most loved stories to life through full-body play and imagination.
On 25 April (Saturday), children will step right into the story:
đż swish through tall grass
đ§ splash across rivers
đ¤ squelch through muddy paths
âď¸ wander into a snowy surprise
đť and finally⌠meet the bear
Each scene is thoughtfully designed for sensory exploration and role play, where children donât just âlearn the storyââ
they experience it, with their whole body and all their senses.
This playdate is also a little celebrationâ
a joyful wrap-up of our Animal Kingdom journey, and a chance for new families to experience what learning feels like at Chateau Play.
If youâve been curious about our approach, this is a beautiful way to begin â¤

âDonât let them get dirty.â
âŚor maybe we should rethink that đ
Because in between the water, ice, mud and texturesâ
something magical is happening.
Not noise.
Not mess.
But deep, focused learning.
A child pouring the same cup again and againâ
is building concentration.
Tiny hands squeezing, scooping, exploringâ
are making sense of the world.
The âmessâ we see?
Itâs actually curiosity at work.
The repetition?
Thatâs how confidence is built.
The play?
Thatâs how learning begins.
No worksheets.
No drilling.
Just real experiences that stay with them.
Because childhood isnât meant to be kept clean and quietâ
itâs meant to be felt.
If this feels like the kind of learning you want your child to grow up with,
come see it for yourself đż
đŠ DM us for trial sessions
They werenât âlearning Arctic animalsâ⌠they were living it!
No worksheets.
No memorising animal names by rote.
Insteadâ
Children stepped into an Arctic world.
Cold textures. Wet and dry sensory play.
Hands-on exploration through all their senses.
This week, the space transformedâ
into a skiing resort that came to life in the classroom.
A zipline appeared, quietly inviting courage.
Snowy worlds, movement, imagination⌠all unfolding through play.
And suddenly, children werenât just learning about arctic animalsâ
they were inside arctic world, living it, exploring it with their whole bodies.
And in that processâ
They talked more. Tried more. Imagined more.
Because real learning doesnât stay in the head.
It moves through the body first.
If youâd like to see learning like this in real life,
youâre warmly welcome to visit us.
We offer trial sessions for our weekday 3-day option (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday), 9:30â11:30am.
DM us to find out more or to arrange a visit!
Sometimes, itâs in these quiet, flowing momentsâŚ
that you really get to see how children learn.
In this little glimpse, you might noticeâ
no one is rushing them, no one is telling them exactly what to doâŚ
and yet, so much is happening.
Some children are repeating the same action again and againâ
scoop, pour, try again.
Thatâs not âjust playingââthatâs focus, coordination, and problem-solving in the making.
Some are watching quietly from the side,
taking it all in before theyâre ready to join.
Thatâs their way of building confidence and understanding the space.
And some are already deep in their own little worldâ
turning simple materials into stories, roles, and imagination.
Different children, different rhythmsâ
and all of it is learning.
At Chateau Play, we donât rush this process.
We give it space, we stay close, and we trust that
when children feel safe and curious⌠they naturally lean into learning.
If youâve ever wondered what a calm, child-led environment looks like in real life,
this is a little peek đ
Youâre always welcome to come by,
to observe, to experience,
and to let your child explore it in their own way â¨
I used to be afraid of animals.
Dogs, cats, birds, chickens, ducks, rabbitsâ
almost every âlovelyâ animal⌠I was afraid of.
Growing up, I was told:
they are dirty,
they carry germs and viruses,
they might bite or scratch,
they are troublesomeâshedding fur, making a mess,
and expensive to care for.
So I grew up without the companionship of animals.
And only much later in life did I realiseâ
there was a quiet sense of loss in that.
Even a little bit of shame.
Because deep down,
I always knewâŚ
I loved them.
I was just afraid.
______________
As I grew older,
I started spending time with friends who had petsâ
who treated them as family.
And something in me shifted.
I realised⌠maybe fear is something I can unlearn.
I realizedâif those are real concerns,
then I can simply find ways to meet them with care and thoughtfulness.
I can keep them healthy and clean through regular cleaning.
I can provide safe spaces so they feel secure, and we can interact gently.
I can learn their signals, so both they and I can live happily together.
I can plan responsibly for food, shelter, and medical care,
so that every challenge becomes an opportunity to love them well.
______________
And then, Lumi came into our lives.
Lumi was a stray cat who had been wandering around Eco Botanic for about three years.
She stayed near construction sites,
and thankfully, kind people in the neighbourhood would feed her.
Our atelier used to be there.
One day in November 2025,
she was sitting right at the bottom of the stairs I needed to walk up.
I gently âmeowedâ at herâ
and she came to me, without hesitation.
I was still a little afraid.
That inner child voice was still thereâ
Will she scratch me? Bite me? Attack me?
But I prepared some food for her anyway.
She looked so thin⌠so hungry.
After eating, she left.
And I didnât see her again for a week.
______________
The second time I saw her,
it was a heavy downpour.
She walked upstairs on her own
and sat quietly outside, waiting for me to open the door.
She looked helpless.
Like she just needed a place to stay dry⌠and feel safe.
I let her in for a few hours.
And for the first time, I thoughtâ
Maybe I could give her a home.
But after the rain stopped,
she meowed and meowed, asking to leave.
So I let her go.
______________
That night, there was another storm.
And I regretted it deeply.
Where would she go?
Would she be safe?
That was the moment I made a promise to myselfâ
If she ever comes back again, I will keep her.
______________
A few days later,
she came back.
And again⌠it was a stormy day.
This time, I didnât hesitate.
I chose her.
And I chose to be responsible for her life.
______________
We brought her for vaccinations,
had her spayed, groomed, and cared for.
She took some time to adjustâ
from a life of freedom and wandering,
to one of safety and being cared for.
Between freedom and safety,
I chose safety for her.
______________
And thatâs when I truly got to know her.
She is gentle.
Easy-going.
Incredibly intuitive.
And so naturallyâŚ
she became part of our childrenâs world.
______________
Sometimes, a child would say,
âI donât feel like coming to school todayâŚâ
But when they hear,
âYou can play with Lumi today,â
something shifts.
They find their courage again.
______________
Lumi is not just a pet.
She is a family member, a bridge.
For children who are slower to warm up,
who find it hard to connect with othersâ
it becomes easier through her.
They learn to wait for their turn to feed her,
to observe her responses,
to approach gently, to connect.
______________
We also guide children to understand âcat languageâ:
đž When Lumi gives a slow blink
â she is showing trust and affection
đž When her tail flicks quickly or her ears go back
â she may feel uncomfortable and needs space
đž When she comes close and gently rubs against you
â she is seeking connection
Children begin to understandâ
animals have voices too.
And when Lumi shows she needs space,
we stop. We respect that.
We donât teach children to âdo whatever they wantâ with animals.
We guide them toâ
đą understand othersâ feelings
đą respect boundaries
đą show gentle, genuine care
______________
We believe this deeply:
A childâs relationship with animals
can be one of the most natural ways to develop empathy.
Through these everyday moments, children are buildingâ
⨠emotional awareness
⨠empathy and compassion
⨠self-regulation
⨠social connection
Because they are not learning through instructionâ
they are learning through feeling and responding.
______________
We are so lucky to have Lumi.
She found a home.
And in her own quiet way,
she has become something very special in our space.
And perhaps,
we are learning alongside the children tooâ
how to love a little more gently.
______________
Sometimes, as adults, we may find ourselves wonderingâ
what do we receive in return, for all that we give?
And yet, when we slow down enough to noticeâŚ
Lumi has already been giving, all along.
Her trust.
Her quiet presence.
The way she chooses to come close, again and again.
A kind of love that is steady, uncomplicated,
and never asks for anything back.
______________
In our space,
we donât focus on teaching children
âwhat can I get in return?â
Instead, we gently guide them to experienceâ
đą what it means to give
đą how to care, without conditions
đą how to be thankful, rather than keeping score
Because sometimes,
the most meaningful things we receive in life
are never the ones we can measure.
