Crew Skills International (M) Sdn Bhd is a vocational training organization that runs internationally accredited culinary courses in Ipoh and Seremban for those interested in serving in the Malaysian and international hospitality industry, and on-board International Cruise Lines. Crew Skills fills the “experience” gap that many people have when seeking a job in F&B, and our training is targeted at three competency areas:
Attitude – personal capacity to excel in the chosen profession
Skills – practical competency and ability to do all the key tasks within that profession
Knowledge – theoretical understanding of the chosen profession. Crew Skills group began in 2008 and commenced its training in the Philippines using the facilities at Clark Education City. In 2011, we moved to Malaysia and in 2012 we set up a dedicated training facility in Ipoh. Initially the objective was to attract international students and eventually place them on International Cruise Lines, like Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We have since evolved and now Crew Skills largely trains Malaysians to be professional cooks through internationally recognised qualifications certified by organisations like Culinary Solutions Australia and City & Guilds UK, and assists Malaysian and international candidates to get jobs in the hospitality industry as well as on International Cruise Lines. In 2017, Crew Skills received a citation from the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), an industry body representing chefs internationally. The citation is a Recognition of Quality Culinary Education which is testimony to the high-quality standards that Crew Skills embodies.
