🌈 March is Colour Adventures!
This month, we're exploring the wonderful world of colours! Through creative art projects, sensory play, and engaging activities that involve fine and gross motor, children will develop motor skills while discovering different hues and shades. All fun-filled activities are to create curiosity and joy as the children experiment with colours.

February is SHAPE month! We have explored many different activities of shapes through matching, stamping, collaging and gross motor activities to see what can we "play" with shapes!

We are thrilled to have Lion Dance performance in school this year!
We love it because it really helps children to desensitize on loud noises and other sensory like looking at the lion dance performance in front of their eyes and we can even have interactions with the "Lion" by touching them.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, the children made fun and colourful crafts. They also learned about the traditions, food, and stories that are part of this special festival. It was a joyful way to explore culture and have fun together!

四月是自闭症关注月，让我们来探讨探讨5个我们对自闭症最大的错误认知：

** “谱系障碍”是指一种在表现上有广泛差异的障碍，也就是说，自闭症不是一个单一的样子，而是一个“光谱”（范围）。

你想讲道理 他听不到

你以为他是在对你唱反调
但其实
他的大脑还处于 Lizard brain 阶段

#什么意思呢？

我们人类大脑有三层结构：

第一层是爬虫脑（Lizard Brain）
也叫原始脑
负责生存反应：逃跑、攻击、冻结

第二层是哺乳脑（Mammal Brain）
处理情绪 安全感 和关系连结

最外层才是人类脑（Human Brain）
也就是前额叶皮质（prefrontal cortex）
控制理性 思考 判断和自我控制

5岁前的孩子
Lizard brain 超强
Human brain 还在努力 download 着

他一紧张 一不顺
直接启动 Lizard brain

Human brain
要到25岁才真正成熟

小孩在情绪崩溃时
不是故意不听
是真的 #没能力控制

他的 Lizard brain 只有两个选项：
打 或者 逃
哭 或者 尖叫

我们讲什么
孩子都听不进去

因为那个时候
孩子不是在思考
他是在 #求生
还处于 Lizard brain 阶段

#解决方法

所以我们大人要做的
不是马上讲道理
而是先连结（Connection）

就是让孩子“感觉到安全”
感觉到你是站在他这边的

比如：
他在地上大哭大闹
你可以蹲下来 靠近一点

轻声说：
“爸爸在这里 不用怕”
“你很生气 对不对 我陪你”
“我知道你现在很难过 我不会走开”
“你可以先发泄… 我会在这里等你…”

你不用马上解决问题
你只需要用语气 眼神 肢体
让他知道
#我们理解他
#我们一直在他这边

…….

#一旦孩子感觉到安全

Lizard brain 就慢慢退下
Human brain 才会启动
我们讲的话 他才听得进去

….

很多时候
我们不是解决不了孩子的行为
是我们太快想解决
却没先建立连结

大人藤条一出来
大人大声恐吓喊骂
试着用我们的“威严”来控制
结果变成怎样？

孩子越失控
大人越生气
然后孩子更加失控
然后大人更加生气

本来可以很容易解决的
是我们自己先失控
导致事情越来越糟糕

没完没了 永无止境

孩子情绪崩溃时
要先连接 才能引导

我们的目标
不是要打赢这场仗
是让孩子知道
我们一直都在
