The mission of preserving and propagating Indian Classical Carnatic Music is effectively served internationally. Vidushi Shrimathi Yamuna Aarumugam has to be congratulated for her

sincere efforts. Smt. Yamuna Devi the dynamic and versatile singer and guru has carved a niche for herself in the field of Indian Classical Music in Malaysia. Born to Shri Arumugam Avunu Krishnarajuloo who himself was a prominent figure in the Indian Community ans Smt. Lakshmi both steeped in pedigree Carnatic Music, she was groomed in her initial years in Carnatic Music by her parents. Under the tutelage of Kumari Thilagawathy Sokalingam from Central College of Carnatic Music Adyar, Chennai. Yamuna took to the path of pursuing her music seriously. She was soon into concert performances and competitions in her teens. Being the first Malaysian to have done the Sangeetham arangetram in 1986 she had the rare previlege of enrolling herself as a deciple of of THE LEGEND SANGEETHA KALANIDHI DR. M. L. VASANTHA KUMARI of Chennai India who was also the Chancellor of Mahila University of Thirupathi , Andhra


Harnessing a facile and mellifluous voice with a rare charisma which draws a large listening crowd to her concerts. The Sangeethalaya Malaysia a renowned organization for Carnatic Music, honored her with the prestigious "SANGEETHA ISAI KALAI VANI" award in 2006. Being the Guru and Director of Sapthaswara Sangeethalaya, one of the most dynamic and prestigious academy in Malaysia, she takes great pleasure in fostering the younger generation into music and has a good number of students to her credit from various parts of Malaysia.

Sapthaswara Sangeethalaya Academy of Fine Arts "One of the best concerts ever performed." It brought perfect immense satisfaction. The organising team of The Ipoh Little India Shirdi Sai Center is highly applauded for their painstakingly sincere efforts in hosting such a great event. From the warm, love-filled welcome of the artist, to the dining, introduction, divine gifts, honouring of the artist, and finally the send-off. Every detail was handled with care. There is so much to learn from the committee of The Shirdi Sai Center Ipoh. My family members too were treated wonderfully from the beginning we walked in until the parting moment. The Sai devotees maintained silence throughout the recital marking respect to the performing artist and the art itself. Truly an unforgettable bonding moment with the Shirdi Sai members and "Sri Guru Shirdi Sai Baba."

Sapthaswara Sangeethalaya Academy of Fine Arts known for evoking the essence of rain and often associated with bringing gentle showers became more than just music for dear sister , Bharathanatyam Guru Komala Segar and myself last evening.The fact that a quiet rain began only during our practice and stopped exactly when the song ended , feels like a direct blessing from Goddess Saraswathy, the embodiment of art, wisdom, and nature's grace.
That special bonding moment with "Rain Raga", kept both of us quiet “lost for words” where the soul understands what the mind cannot explain. May this memory continue and that shared silence between both of us afterward, unable to speak but hearts full , that's where real bhakti and art meet. No words were needed because the moment had already said everything. Love you Amrithavarshini 🙏

"Today's Bharatanatyam Aranggetram was a roaring success indeed. I feel truly blessed to have been a vocalist for the grand arangetram of the most wonderful Bharatanatyam Guru Ushanandini Krishnasamy whom I have had the privilege of working with for the past 18 years. A heartfelt thank you for the amazing accompaniment by Achyuthan Sashidaran Nair on violin, and Darmen Krisnan on mridangam.
