🏆 Congratulations to Mr. Chan – Open Champion at Sunway Asian Parliamentary 2026!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our debate coach Mr. Chan, who was crowned Open Champion at the Sunway Asian Parliamentary 2026 Debate Competition, held at Sunway University on 4–5 April 2026.

The tournament brought together strong teams from universities and schools including Taylor’s University, Sunway University, Universiti Malaya, Monash University, IIUM, universities from Singapore, as well as top high schools such as MCKK, KYS, MRSM, Poi Lam, Yuk Choy and Shen Jai.

Competing through 4 preliminary rounds and 3 elimination rounds (Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Grand Finals), Mr. Chan and his teammates Raymond Kimura and Gelson Eng emerged as the Open Champions of the tournament.

During the same weekend, Mr. Chan also brought 6 high school debate teams from Poi Lam, Shen Jai and Yuk Choy to participate in the competition. We are proud that two of the teams coached by him achieved Reserve Break status in the High School Category, an impressive achievement for such young debaters.

Mr. Chan has continuously dedicated his time to nurturing young debaters and expanding access to debating opportunities for students outside Klang Valley. His achievement is not only a personal milestone but also an inspiration for our students to aim higher in their debating journey.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievement of our student Teoh Zhi Yi, who has been awarded a Merit Award at the 10th International Speech Open Contest in the English Speech – Junior Secondary Group (S1–S3) category.

This prestigious international competition was organised by the Hong Kong Multiple Intelligences Education Association (HKMIE) and brought together talented young speakers from different regions to showcase their confidence, clarity, and communication skills.

Zhi Yi’s dedication, courage, and effort in preparing her speech has truly paid off.

Your hard work and determination continue to inspire us. Keep shining, keep speaking, and keep reaching for greater heights! 🌟

Zoey Chow Yu, our Communication Skills (Public Speaking) student of 6 years, has just completed her UK and US university applications—and our hearts are so full watching how far she has come.

Zoey joined us during the pandemic, and from the very beginning, there was something quietly special about her. She showed up, did the work, and little by little, chose courage over comfort. And even scored 11As for her SPM in 2023!

She never settled for “good enough.” Instead, she kept searching—for better ideas, more meaningful angles, and new ways of expressing herself. She was always willing to try, to explore, and to stretch beyond what felt easy.

We still remember the insecurities she had when she first started. But what mattered most was this—she never let those doubts stop her. Even from Grade 1, she kept going. Step by step, she grew into someone thoughtful, confident, and quietly determined.

Today, that journey has blossomed into something truly remarkable.

Her hard work has now opened so many doors. Zoey has been awarded multiple prestigious scholarships:

*Yayasan UEM Global Scholarship
*PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme (PESP) – Overseas Universities
*TNB PRIME Scholarship – Overseas Universities

Zoey’s journey is a powerful reminder that growth is not about perfection, but persistence. From a hesitant beginning to standing among the top applicants globally, she has shown what consistent effort, courage, and intellectual curiosity can achieve.

Zoe accepted the Shell Malaysia Scholarship Programme and is now preparing for an exciting journey to Cambridge!
