🎉 RUMC Innovators Win 1st Place at Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab Hackathon 🏆

Huge congratulations to Abderrahman Al‑Qirim and Hamizan Naeem, Year 1 BSc Medical Informatics students, for winning the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab (HSIL) Hackathon 2026 as Team Yaqeen Health! 🇲🇾

Their project, Vital Sync, is an AI‑powered ICU patient monitoring dashboard that tackles alarm fatigue where up to 99% of monitor alarms can be false by:

• Predicting patient deterioration early using the clinically validated NEWS2 score
• Generating on device AI shift handover summaries for nursing teams
• Running entirely offline so it’s usable in rural and low connectivity settings

As champions, they will represent Malaysia on the program’s Global Incubation Track. 🌎
