"The Return of Demon" Team Building Camp
On the 19th of March, Chung Ling High School KEY (Kiwanis) Club organised a Team Building camp, the camp was from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Various station games and a very exciting Final Mission regarding our camp theme, The Return Of The Demon were offered. We had approximately 165 participants joining us including students from Penang Chinese Girls' High School and Convent Green Lane.
The event started with an opening speech by our beloved teacher advisor Madam Tay Poh Hiok. Madam Tay welcomed all the participants and hoped them to have their happiest day. A brief speech is then given by our organizing chairman Key Loh Yit Shen. Key Loh Yit Shen welcomed all the participants and he thanked for all the supports given by the students.
After that, the teams started the ice breaking session. Participants were given a chance to recognize themselves between each other and created the foster ties between them. Breakfast was served to the participants after that. After breakfast, station games were played between the participants. Many participants enjoyed the station games and they played against each other competitively. Lunch was served after the station games. It was a simple yet nourishing meal of economy rice.
After a filing lunch, the participants were sent to phase 1 of the final mission where they had to compete for clues. After that, they were sent to find the committee members described by the clues to obtain for more clues about the demons. With all the clues the got, they were sent to hunt for the demons around the school compound. The camp ended with a closing ceremony and prizes were given out to the winners.

On the 16th of April 2017, The Kiwanis Educates Youth (KEY) Club of Chung Ling High School organized a Trip to Tech Dome Penang with orphans from Shan Children’s Home. Tech Dome Penang which is located in Komtar, is the first ever Science Discovery Center in Penang. It was a memorable and interesting yet noble activity where our participants had to bring the orphans around Tech Dome and discover new things with them.
This trip was sponsored by our generous sponsors, The Kiwanis Club of Penang. They kindly sponsored free tickets and lunch for the orphans. It was with their generous sponsorship of money and effort that helped made this trip an impressive and astounding success.
The trip started at around 10am. We brought the orphans into Tech Dome Penang where we were greeted by the Tech Dome manager. He gave the participants an interesting opening speech and welcomed them formally into Tech Dome. Once inside, we brought the orphans around the exhibitions. They enjoyed themselves thoroughly and were very happy to be able to interact with all the exhibitions. The participants, committee members, teachers, orphans and Kiwanis Representatives took a break for lunch at 12pm at the Tech Dome Cafeteria. The lunch was filling yet delicious. There were 2 sets which consist of a main course, appetizers, dessert and beverages. After that, we accompanied the orphans to continue their trip. Some of our more generous participants even bought some star attraction tickets for the orphans to enjoy. After that, we brought the orphans to see a robot show that started at 3pm. It was an interesting show where the robot danced to several songs, including Gangnam style. The orphans from Shan Children’s Home enjoyed themselves a lot and they were eager to join us in future activities.
We sincerely thank our teacher advisors, Madam Tay Poh Hiok and Puan Hajar Nor Afidah Bt Zahari for joining us as well as the organizing committees led by the Organizing Chairman, John Song for their excellent planning and management. Special thanks should also go to the President/ Advisor, Alvin Ewe for giving out helpful and useful advices which were vital to our success in this trip and Lim Liang-I who forked out time and effort to be our photographer on that eventful and memorable day.
