Ben’s Mantids Visit to ESOL Learning Centre!
Yesterday, ESOL Learning Centre was buzzing with excitement as Mr. Ben from Ben’s Mantids brought along his amazing invertebrate friends for a fun and interactive workshop!
Students were thrilled to meet all of his lovely, slimy, shiny, dancing, and crawly creatures. From a fierce-looking scorpion, to a rainbow boa, and even a leafy praying mantis that looked just like a piece of greenery come to life.
Twinkle, the sparkly rainbow boa, slithered gracefully and showed off its beautiful, glimmering scales. A true star of the show!
Then came Noodle the gecko, everyone’s favourite jumper! Noodle greeted a few brave students by leaping from one hand to another, tickling their palms with its tiny toes, and crawling playfully along their arms. Laughter and squeals of excitement filled the room as students learned how gentle and friendly geckos can be.
It was a fascinating, hands-on experience that sparked curiosity and wonder about the amazing world of invertebrates and reptiles.
A huge thank you to Mr. Ben for bringing nature so close to us. What an unforgettable learning adventure!

Year 3 Students Create Their Very Own Thinking Hats!
Our Year 3 students had a fantastic time making their own thinking hats in a creative way to help them think better, faster, and smarter!
Sometimes, all it takes is a little imagination (and a fancy top hat) to tackle tricky problems. Wearing their thinking hats, students learned to focus, explore ideas, and approach challenges with confidence, and of course, a touch of style!
It’s amazing how a simple activity can inspire creativity, problem-solving, and a sense of fun in learning. Keep thinking, Year 3!
Learning Math the Fun Way!
Who says math has to be boring? Our students are discovering that math can be musical! By combining rhythm, beats, and movement, they’re learning to think, solve problems, and stay focused, all while having fun.
When the numbers get tricky, we tango together! Watch as students carefully identify the beats and figure out the numbers, showing amazing concentration and alertness.
Learning math doesn’t have to follow the old, traditional ways. Sometimes, a little music and movement is all it takes to make concepts click!

Year 4 Students Explore “Growing a Rainbow”!
Our Year 4 students were excited and fascinated as they learned about Growing a Rainbow! Watching colors emerge truly brought their curiosity and wonder to life.
It’s moments like these that make teaching so rewarding that even a simple activity, when presented in the right way, can spark students’ interest, brighten their focus, and inspire them to explore and learn new things with enthusiasm.
Seeing their eyes light up with curiosity reminds us that learning can be joyful, magical, and full of discovery!

Greener Spaces, Happier Faces!
Our Gardening Club members have been working hard to transform the ESOL Learning Centre into a greener and cleaner space for everyone to enjoy!
Every Wednesday during CCA, these dedicated students roll up their sleeves to clean, recycle, and plant various greens to beautify the school compound. Their teamwork, creativity, and care for the environment truly make a difference into turning our learning space into a place that inspires calm, focus, and pride.
Bravo to our young gardeners! Keep up the amazing work in making our school more beautiful and sustainable.

Learning Fractions the Tasty Way!
Our Year 2 students had a deliciously fun time learning fractions through food! What better way to understand halves, quarters, and thirds than by sharing slices of pizza with friends?
Through this hands-on activity, students discovered that learning fractions can be both educational and enjoyable. By cutting, sharing, and comparing their pizza slices, they learned the concept of part and whole in a real and memorable way.
Learning truly comes alive when it’s practical, and tasty too!

Paper Caterpillar Races with Our Students!
Our students had a fun and exciting time making their very own paper caterpillars, and then racing them to see whose could reach the finish line first!
This simple art and craft activity brought lots of laughter and friendly competition, while also helping students strengthen their fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination.
Art and craft isn’t just about creativity. It’s a wonderful way to build important skills and show that learning can be fun in every way!
Brain Breaks with KS1 Year 2 Students!
Taking short brain breaks in between lessons is an important part of learning. It helps students relax, refocus, and regulate their energy so they’re ready to learn again!
Our Year 2 students enjoyed a variety of fun and active brain break activities, from quick movement games to calming breathing exercises. These short moments of play and movement help improve concentration, boost mood, and make learning even more enjoyable.
It’s amazing to see how a few minutes of fun can make such a big difference in the classroom!
Singing Traditional Folk Songs
Our KS2 Malay Language students had a wonderful time learning to sing Malay folk songs! Through this activity, they explored the beauty of the Malay language and culture while developing confidence in pronunciation and rhythm.
Learning folk songs is not only fun, but also helps students connect with Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage in a joyful and memorable way.
ESOL Book Character Day 2025
What an incredible Book Character Day we had this year! Our students truly took creativity to the next level. Instead of store-bought outfits, many of them designed and crafted their costumes using everyday household items, art supplies, and a whole lot of imagination. It was inspiring to see how resourceful and inventive they were in bringing their favourite storybook characters to life.
From a cute and feisty Angry Bird, to a mysterious werewolf, a clever Red Riding Hood, and of course, superheroes of all kinds to keep us safe. Every costume added fun and excitement to the day. Each character reminded us of the joy of reading and the magic of stepping into a story.
A big thank you to all students, teachers, and parents for your enthusiasm and participation. Your creativity and spirit made Book Character Day 2025 a huge success!
We look forward to keeping this wonderful tradition alive for many more years, celebrating books, imagination, collaboration, and the joy of learning together.
