π°π₯π’ Pet Day 2026 π’π₯π°
What an exciting day of learning, exploring, and caring for our little animal friends.
Today, the children had the opportunity to meet, observe, touch, and feed a chick, rabbit, and sulcata tortoise. Through this hands-on experience, they learned about kindness, responsibility, gentle handling, and the importance of respecting all living things.
There were lots of smiles, curious questions, and memorable moments as our young animal lovers interacted with their special visitors. β€οΈ
Thank you to all parents for helping prepare suitable treats for our animal friends and for supporting this meaningful learning experience.
A day filled with fun, laughter, and valuable lessons beyond the classroom π±

π°π₯π’ The children learned something new today!
Not every animal eats the same food. Just like us, each pet has its own favourite menu. π
We explored what rabbits, chicks, and Sulcata tortoises like to eat and discovered that choosing the right food is one way we can care for animals responsibly.
Now the big question isβ¦ did you pick the correct snack for our special guests? π
A rabbitβs diet should mainly consist of:
* β
Hay (about 80β90% of their diet)
* β
Fresh leafy greens (romaine lettuce, coriander, bok choy, etc.)
* β
Rabbit pellets (in moderation)
* β
Fresh water
Sulcata tortoise (African Spurred Tortoise)
β
Grass (Bermuda grass, orchard grass, lawn grass free from pesticides)
β
Hay (Timothy hay, orchard hay)
β
Weeds and leafy greens (dandelion leaves, hibiscus leaves, mulberry leaves)
β
Cactus pads (prickly pear, without spines)
* π₯¬ Romaine lettuce
* π₯ Cucumber
* π₯ Small amounts of carrot
For baby chicks
β
Chick starter feed (best and most complete food)
β
Small amounts of finely chopped leafy greens (occasionally)
β
Fresh, clean water at all times
* π½ Crushed corn
* πΎ Crushed grains
* π₯¬ Finely chopped vegetables
