Selesai sudah majlis gemilang 𝐒𝐂𝐒𝐌 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 di Dewan Huguan Siou Tuavon semalam! Dari 143 calon tahun lepas, tahun 2026 ini kita bangkit dengan 177 calon yang berjaya membawa p**ang sijil antarabangsa!

The evening commenced with absolute prestige: an academic procession led by our Honours performers, four Grade-8 achievers in sub-fusc robes, and our faculty donning the official SCSM Academic Licentiate and Fellowship hoods.

During the ceremony, the Artistic Director Mr Carrey Oliver, had the privilege of sharing exactly why Oongisvoce partners with the St Cecilia Examinations Intl. (SCSM). This international board does something extraordinary: it honours the cultural value of Sabah by providing special provisions that allow our ethnic contemporary songs (ie. Kadazandusun, Murut, Bajau) to be showcased within the official repertoire, SCSM supports the advancement of Sabah artistry on an international level. We are taking our heritage to the world.

Principal Elton Ciddy delivered a powerful reminder to our achievers and parents: these results are meticulously adjudicated by qualified international examiners against strict criteria. Over our 12-year history, we have trained more than 1,800 candidates. We are not just teaching music; we are building a highly qualified, "celik muzik" community in Sabah, empowering everyone from students and school teachers to medical practitioners, bankers, and incredibly dedicated homemakers.

✨ The CHOIRS of Oongisvoce Academy of Music: SCSM Exams Oct–Dec 2025 ✨
"The making of Donggongon The Singing City"

These two choirs stood tall and brave to face the St Cecilia Examinations Intl. (SCSM International, Australia) in their choir examinations. 💪🎶

For each exam, students had to perform 4 songs within the timing, introduce their musicality in English Language, and show discipline, passion, and courage. Bukan senang bah, but they did it. Respect! 🙌

Behind every voice, every note, every bow on the violin, ada tangan-tangan guru yang sabar:

175 students, aged 8 to 56, stood tall and brave to face the St Cecilia Examinations Intl. (SCSM International, Australia) in solo singing, guitar, piano, keyboard, violin, theory of music, and choir. 💪🎶

For each exam, students had to perform 4 songs within the timing, introduce their musicality in English Language, and show discipline, passion, and courage. Bukan senang bah, but they did it! We also got to sing our KDMR songs to the International Examiners! 20% of the students were new students, yet they still dared to step into the spotlight. Respect! 🙌

At Oongisvoce Academy of Music (OV), siurang understand that teaching kids requires both passion and patience. Mistakes are part of the journey, but we must pursue quality outcomes because every child deserves the chance to grow into their fullest voice.

On our 12th anniversary this March 2026, we dream of seeing Donggongon become the "City of Singers" in the near future; a place where talents are trained, produced, and celebrated as ambassadors of arts and culture. This vision is not just about music, but about Sabahan pride and cultural legacy.

Instead of auditioning or selecting only prodigies, OV welcomed whichever parents were willing to invest their time in developing their children’s skills. The Beautyza Chorus performance is the fruit of two years of persistence without insistence since its beginning in 2022, with just pure discipline and the pursuit of high-quality artistry.

Back in 2022 when we first began, the path seemed impossible. Today, their voices menawan hati pendengar but none of this would have been possible without the dedication of the SK Babagon teachers, especially Teacher Christina Kuain, who kept the children’s motivation burning bright.

OV stands as proof that with patience, discipline, and community spirit, even non-auditioned kids can rise to become a sonorous choir.

The conductor, Teacher K. Lee, with 20 years of choral and voice teaching experience, has always dreamt of training premium voices beyond the usual kebiasaan nyanyi teriak² lagu patriotik. He said, "This is our keepsake a choir in Penampang that shows what happens when passion meets perseverance. Manatau awal bersara mau tukar bidang 🤣 tiberrr.. But for now, the journey continues, and the dream of Donggongon as a singing city is alive and growing".
