✨ Leadership Appreciation & Transition Celebration: Appreciation for Dr. Nina & Welcoming Mdm. Aniz ✨

🌟On 7 August 2026, the MMU Cyberjaya LIfE Staff Club 2026 organised a meaningful Leadership Appreciation & Transition Celebration to honour the leadership, dedication, and legacy of Dr. Nina (Dr. Ong Sue Lyn), while warmly welcoming Mdm. Aniz as the new Director of LIfE.

🎤 The celebration began with a heartfelt appreciation speech by Dr. Nina, followed by a special Appreciation Video that captured memorable moments, sincere messages, and the lasting impact of her leadership within the LIfE family.

💐 As a token of gratitude, the LIfE Staff Club presented flowers and a special appreciation card to Dr. Nina. The card contained message cards from all MMU Cyberjaya staff, symbolising our collective appreciation, warm wishes, and heartfelt thanks for her guidance and contributions.

👑 One of the most memorable moments was the Symbolic Leadership Transition, where Dr. Nina, while still wearing her own crown, placed a new crown on Mdm. Aniz. With both Dr. Nina and Mdm. Aniz wearing their crowns, the moment beautifully symbolised continuity, trust, and a new leadership chapter — honouring Dr. Nina’s inspiring legacy while welcoming Mdm. Aniz with hope, confidence, and support.

🎂 The celebration continued with a welcoming speech by Mdm. Aniz, followed by the presentation of flowers and a joyful Welcome Cake Cutting Ceremony to mark her new journey with LIfE.

🌹 We were also honoured by the presence of Prof. Zul, whose support made the occasion even more meaningful. More than a farewell and welcome ceremony, this celebration was a moment of appreciation, transition, unity, and shared hope — bringing LIfE together as one family.

JCLC Has Done It Again!

The Journal of Communication, Language and Culture (JCLC) has achieved yet another remarkable milestone by being ranked among the top 10% of journals worldwide in Literature and Literary Theory, based on the latest Scopus CiteScore metrics.

To celebrate this achievement, MMU Press organised an appreciation ceremony at the Courtyard, Ground Floor, TMRND, to recognise and express gratitude for the excellent work of the JCLC editorial team. The event was attended by the University's President, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su'ud; the CEO of TM R&D, Dr. Sharlene Thiagarajah; the Director of MMU Press, Professor Siow Hooi Tan, and members of the University's research and management teams.

Congratulations to our Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Ts. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan, as well as the rest of the editorial team, comprising our very own LIfE members: Managing Editors Dr. Sareen Kaur Bhar and Dr. Hawa Rahmat, and Co-Editors Chin Chiu Jin, Chua Yong Eng, Mohd Hairul Anuar bin Razak, Mohamed Hasif Jazila, and Noorul Amilin Nordin.

🩺 Health Screening & Health Promotion Programme 2026

The MMU Cyberjaya LIfE Staff Club 2026 successfully organised the Health Screening & Health Promotion Programme 2026 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia), Hospital Cyberjaya, and Klinik Kesihatan Cyberjaya, bringing together LIfE staff, FAIE staff and students, and members of the MMU community for a meaningful day dedicated to preventive healthcare, health awareness, and community well-being.

The programme offered participants comprehensive health screening services, including blood pressure and vital signs, blood glucose, cholesterol, and BMI assessments, while promoting the importance of early detection, preventive healthcare, and healthier lifestyle choices.

While the programme was primarily organised for LIfE staff, it was also opened to FAIE staff and students, reflecting the spirit of neighbourliness as LIfE is located within the FAIE building.

The programme also featured health promotion exhibitions on Healthy Nutrition, Know Your Medicines, and Smoking Cessation & Health Awareness, providing participants with practical knowledge to support healthier living. The exhibitions received encouraging participation, further highlighting the importance of making informed health choices.

The programme was warmly received by LIfE staff throughout the day. Ms. Mindy and Ms. Kim were among the first participants to undergo the health screening, while Ms. Munirah and Ms. Nilofar concluded the programme as the final participants of the day, reflecting the continuous support and strong sense of togetherness demonstrated by the LIfE family.

The MMU Cyberjaya LIfE Staff Club extends its heartfelt appreciation to all LIfE staff, FAIE staff, students, volunteers, and everyone who participated in this programme. Your presence, enthusiasm, and unwavering support truly reflected the spirit of community, making this initiative a meaningful success.

Character Building Carnival 2026 Melaka Campus

On 24 June 2026, the Character-Building Carnival 2026 was held at Theatre 1, MMU Melaka. The event was organised by the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE) in collaboration with students enrolled in Character Building courses under the Performing Arts and Sports Sciences fields. The carnival was officiated by Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli Bin Yusoff, Vice President, Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (VP SEED).

Various uniform bodies and student units, including APM, Wataniah, Clover, Special Needs, and Jabatan Penjara, attracted enthusiastic visitors to their exhibition booths, which showcased their activities, achievements, and contributions to the community.

One of the highlights of the carnival was the performances by the champion and first runner-up groups from the Instrument, Theatre, and Dance categories. The event concluded at approximately 5.45 p.m. with a prize-giving ceremony recognising winners of competitions held in the weeks leading up to the carnival. To mark the closing of the event, students from the Jabatan Penjara course formed a ceremonial parade and escorted the VIP guests from the venue.

Overall, the carnival successfully achieved the objectives of the Character-Building courses by fostering positive values such as discipline, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration. The active participation and engagement of students throughout the event clearly reflected these values while providing a platform to showcase their talents and skills.

🎓 EMPOWERING FUTURE LEADERS THROUGH CHARACTER & MINDSET TRANSFORMATION

Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), MMU and the Strategic Marketing Department, MMU were honoured to collaborate with SK Cyberjaya in successfully organising the Bengkel Pembentukan Karakter Insaniah, bringing together over 600 participants, including teachers and young learners from SK Cyberjaya.

The programme was led by two speakers, Ts. Natalya Dato' Shamsuar, Director of Strategic Marketing, MMU, and Dr. Muhammad Effendi Ismail, Lecturer at LIfE, MMU. Through their inspiring talks and engaging interactions, participants were encouraged to develop strong character, embrace a growth mindset, and cultivate the confidence, resilience, and leadership qualities needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world.

🌟 It is hoped that this meaningful initiative will inspire young learners to become confident, responsible, and future-ready individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to society and the nation.

🎓 MMU Recreation Day: Aerobic Fiesta 2026 (2nd Edition)

For the second consecutive year, MMU Recreation Day: Aerobic Fiesta 2026 returned with even greater energy, bringing together over 600 students and members of the MMU community and transforming Dewan Tun Canselor into a vibrant arena of fitness, creativity, teamwork, and student leadership.

Organised by Recreation Sports students in collaboration with the Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE MMU), this event served as the students' final project—transforming classroom knowledge into a real-world learning experience. This year's edition featured 16 dynamic aerobic performance teams, showcasing not only physical coordination and rhythm but also the values of discipline, collaboration, innovation, and perseverance.

Spearheaded by their lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Effendi Ismail, and supported by Mdm Iris, together with four experienced aerobic instructors—Ms. Wawa, Mr. Nabil, Mr. Qaiyum, and Ms. Wahdatul—the students demonstrated remarkable excellence through months of preparation, creativity, and teamwork.

More than just a fitness event, Aerobic Fiesta 2026 reflects MMU's commitment to holistic education—nurturing not only academic excellence, but also physical well-being, leadership, and lifelong learning.
