As this year’s meteor shower might be especially visible, we encourage you and your children to try to capture this rare celestial event together. Kiddo Science reminds you to find a safe, open area with a *clear view of the sky, free from light interference, tall buildings, trees, or houses*, to increase your chances of witnessing the meteor shower. 🌠

🦗 Insects That Don’t Look Like Insects: The art of camouflage 🌿

Nature is a master of disguise, and these incredible insects have taken camouflage to a whole new level by blending themselves perfectly into branches, leaves and even flowers. You will never believe your eyes until they start moving!

🍃 Leaf Insect: Their bodies mimic the shape, color, and even the texture of green leaves, making them almost invisible among the foliage. There are also insects that purposely mimic 🍂dead leaves 🍂 Dead Leaf Mantis is one of the excellent example!

🪵 Stick Insect: True to their name, stick insects look just like twigs or branches. Their elongated bodies and brown or green coloration allow them to remain unnoticed among the trees and bushes. It’s no wonder they’re called nature’s living sticks!

🌸 Orchid Mantis: This stunning mantis resembles a beautiful orchid flower. Its pink and white coloring and petal-like legs make it a true master of disguise. But don’t be fooled by its appearance; it uses this disguise to ambush unsuspecting prey that comes too close.
