At Purple Dragon, we believe in striking the right balance between play-based, gamified learning and more structured, traditional approaches 💜 As our children grow, so does the way they learn!

Our older preschoolers are building strong foundations in reading and pronunciation with Jolly Phonics, while also taking on more challenging worksheets in Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu 📝🌟

Learning can be fun and focused and we love seeing their confidence shine through every page they complete! 😊

Our 4 year olds were all smiles and full of curiosity during their trial Ukulele class with Ukubear 🎶✨

Strum, listen, repeat… they were so engaged as they explored this fun little instrument together! Did you know the ukulele 🎸 comes all the way from Hawaii and is one of the easiest instruments for young children to pick up?

Learning the ukulele from a young age helps build listening skills, coordination, and confidence. It’s also a wonderful way for children to express themselves creatively while developing a love for music 💜

It’s natural to wonder about your child’s development 💜

As an Early Years centre, we often hear parents share concerns about whether their child is developing “normally” or showing behaviours that seem different. But the truth is, every child grows and learns at their own pace 🌱✨

There isn’t just one definition of “normal” and being on the spectrum, including Asperger’s, is simply a different way of experiencing the world. Many individuals on the spectrum go on to lead happy, successful lives, and some may never even be formally diagnosed 🧐

Hari Raya joy all around! 🌙✨

All our kiddos had a wonderful time celebrating, learning about festive customs, greetings, and of course… the delicious Raya treats! 🍪💚 There were lots of happy smiles as they enjoyed the yummy snacks prepared by our teachers too 😋

A big thank you to our lovely parents for dressing the children in such beautiful festive outfits and for your generous food contributions. You made the celebration even more special! 🥰

And of course, our 2 to 3 year olds got their turn to build their very own Sandbox City too! 🏙️✨

Little hands got busy digging, building, and arranging their mini city in the sand. So much imagination, teamwork, and excitement as their tiny city came to life! 🚜🏠

Who knew city planning could be this fun? 😄

Traditionally eaten during the Winter Solstice Festival (Dongzhi), the Lantern Festival, and Chinese New Year 🧧✨, Tangyuan (similar sounding to tuanyuan 团圆 meaning "reunion") symbolises family togetherness. Tang yuan originated in China during the Song dynasty (960-1279 C.E.). Historically prepared by families as a communal activity, this is the tradition that Angie Laoshi was demonstrating to the children today.

The children had so much fun rolling the dough into little colourful balls, ready to be cooked into soft and chewy treats 💛🤍🩷
