Can a child start primary school without knowing any words and simply wait for the teacher to teach them❓🤔
Some parents hope their child will learn to recognise words and read before primary school. Others feel that teachers will introduce these skills once school begins. It is understandable to worry about a child falling behind, while also worrying that starting too early might make learning feel like a chore.
Preparing for primary school does not mean teaching the syllabus in advance or doing endless worksheets. Children can begin by recognising familiar words at their own pace, while gradually developing an interest in reading and an understanding of what they read. 📖
A child does not need to be far ahead. But having some basic reading skills before school can help them approach textbooks and questions with greater ease and confidence. 🌱
Today, a parent’s kind words of appreciation made us feel especially happy and touched. ❤️
