The Petroleum Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), is pleased to share the recent international engagement of Ir Dr M Azuwan Maoinser, Chair of the Petroleum Engineering Department, at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Bangladesh.
Invited by the Vice Chancellor of CUET, Prof. Dr. Abu Shadat Muhammad Sayem, Dr Azuwan participated in CUET’s University Day as a Memorial Speaker, representing UTP in an important platform for academic exchange and international collaboration.
Beyond the University Day engagement, the visit provides an opportunity to strengthen connections between UTP and key stakeholders in Bangladesh, including engagements with representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Petrobangla, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), as well as CUET academics and students.
Discussions also explore potential collaborations in research, joint supervision, research attachments, publications and collaborative grants, particularly in strategic areas including energy transition, carbon management and upstream optimisation.
The engagement further serves as a platform to introduce UTP’s undergraduate and postgraduate opportunities, including the MSc in Petroleum Engineering, MSc in Drilling Engineering, and postgraduate research programmes, while building stronger pathways for future students, researchers and institutional partners.
Such international engagements reflect our continued commitment to expanding UTP’s global academic network, fostering industry-connected research, and creating meaningful opportunities for future collaboration and talent development.
