PERMATA MARITIME TRAINING CENTRE SDN BHD telah mula beroperasi pada 25-9-2013 di Wisma Mohd Yunos.Pusat ini telah diiktirafkan oleh Jabatan Laut Malaysia oleh Kapten Nazri Bin Abu Hassan (b.p Ketua Pengarah Laut,Jabatan Laut Malaysia) dan mematuhi kehendak kaedah-kaedah perkapalan saundagar(latihan dan perakuan)1999 dan peraturan-peraturan 1/6 dan 1/8 konvensyen antarabangsa standart latihan,perakuan dan pengawasan 1978 seperti pindaan bagi menajalankan kursus-kursus yang diluluskan.
