EVENT RECAP: INTERNATIONAL LEARNING SESSION ON SDG 5 (GENDER EQUALITY)

On 11 June 2026, the International Relations Officers Network (IRON) XI—a regional academic consortium of internationalization focals in the Davao Region, Philippines—successfully hosted its International Learning Session (ILS) on UN SDG 5 (Gender Equality).

Co-hosted alongside San Pedro College, Ateneo de Davao University, and Assumption College of Davao, the webinar was titled “Transforming Masculinities: Understanding the Role and Challenges of Men’s Engagement in Gender Justice”.

The International Learning Session on SDG 5 (Gender Equality) brought together 250 participants, including 60 international participants from outside the Philippines, representing 58 institutions.

Participants included educators, scholars, practitioners, students, faculty, staff, and administrators from Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and United States, creating a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancing gender equality across the region.
