📌 DESIGNING DYNAMIC POLICY: A PRACTICAL WORKSHOP 📝

Sustaining organizational relevance in a volatile world requires policies developed for flexibility, not merely rigid compliance. We recently wrapped up "Designing Dynamic Policy: A Practical Workshop". Facilitated by Dr. Jamshed Khalid as the resource person, the workshop successfully trained participants to draft flexible policies that adapt to modern challenges while ensuring a sustainable future. This shift from reactive rule-making to proactive, dynamic governance is exactly what creates lasting institutional impact.

✨ Research Framing Sharing Session: A Successful Knowledge Exchange

Thank you to Professor Christopher Ziguras for sharing his expertise on "Standing on the Shoulders of Human and Mechanical Giants: Using Diverse Literatures and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Research."

IPPTN, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), successfully conducted a research sharing session entitled "Standing on the Shoulders of Human and Mechanical Giants: Using Diverse Literatures and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Research," featuring Professor Christopher Ziguras, Director of the Centre for the Study of Higher Education, Faculty of Education.

The session brought together postgraduate students and researchers to explore how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) can be meaningfully integrated into the research process while preserving the essential role of human scholarship. Participants gained practical insights into developing strong research framing by combining traditional academic literature with AI-assisted tools in a critical, ethical, and responsible manner.

Professor Ziguras highlighted the importance of viewing AI as a complementary research assistant rather than a replacement for scholarly thinking. The discussion emphasised that high-quality research continues to depend on researchers' ability to critically evaluate evidence, synthesise diverse perspectives, identify knowledge gaps, and develop original arguments. The session also explored strategies for effectively using GenAI in literature searching, research conceptualisation, academic writing, and idea generation, while recognising its limitations and the need to maintain academic integrity.

IPPTN extends its sincere appreciation to Professor Christopher Ziguras for sharing his expertise and valuable perspectives. Appreciation is also extended to Dr. Devisakti, who moderated the session and facilitated an engaging exchange of ideas, as well as to all postgraduate students and researchers whose active participation contributed to the success of the programme.

This sharing session reflects IPPTN's ongoing commitment to strengthening research capacity and preparing postgraduate researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct rigorous, ethical, and impactful research in the era of artificial intelligence.

🌟 Small Ideas, Big Impact: Inspiring Innovation at IPPTN 🌟

On 9 July 2026, IPPTN had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Schumy Cheow Sze Huay from the School of Languages, Literacies & Translation for an inspiring innovation sharing session with IPPTN staff.

Titled “Small Ideas, Big Impact”, the session highlighted how innovation does not always begin with big breakthroughs. Instead, meaningful transformation often starts with simple ideas, creative thinking, and the willingness to improve everyday practices.

Through her sharing on innovation competitions and practical approaches to developing impactful ideas, Ms. Schumy inspired IPPTN staff to look beyond conventional ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement, and transform challenges into possibilities.

The session served as a valuable reminder that every idea has the potential to create positive change when nurtured with curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to innovate.

May this sharing ignite more innovative thinking and encourage a culture of continuous improvement among IPPTN staff. Together, small ideas can create big impacts. 💡✨
