There are always little things in the classroom that touch me.

学生和我聊了企鹅熊背后的理念
A student was talking with me about the idea behind Little Penguin Bear.

我说你知道企鹅和北极熊住在哪里吗？
I asked, “Do you know where penguins and polar bears live?”

他们住在地球的南北两端
They live at the two opposite ends of the Earth.

我最初的感受是生命可以有许多的可能
My first thought was that life can hold so many possibilities.

北极熊大大的像老师 把小小的企鹅放在头顶上肩上
The big polar bear is like a teacher, carrying the little penguin on its head and shoulders.

希望你们可以借着老师的助力 爬的更高 看的更远 🗻
I hope that with the support of your teachers, you can climb higher and see farther. 🗻

Kristine 随后快速地手绘了一张图
Kristine quickly drew a picture afterwards.

并告诉我：学生其实也可以做的很好，老师有时也会感到很惊喜

孩子学画画，真的只是为了把画画得更像吗？
Is learning art really just about learning to draw things more realistically?

如果有一天，他不再画画了，
那些年学过的艺术，还会留下什么？
If one day, they stop drawing,
what will remain from all those years of learning art?

我们认为，真正值得带走的，
从来不只是一张完成的作品。
We believe that what truly stays with a child
is far more than a finished artwork.

当孩子开始慢慢建立自己的判断。
As children begin to develop their own perspectives and judgement,

他可能会发现
They may begin to wonder:

为什么同样的一棵树，
每个人看到的都不一样？
Why does the same tree
look so different through different eyes?

为什么一种颜色，
可以让人产生不同的感觉？
Why can the same colour
evoke such different feelings in different people?

为什么一幅画，
不一定要“画得像”，
才值得被看见。
Why does a painting
not have to look realistic
to be worth seeing?

在企鹅熊，
我们不急着把孩子训练成“小小艺术家”。
At Little Penguin Bear,
we are not in a hurry to turn children into “little artists.”

我们更在意的是：
What matters more to us is:

他有没有开始观察。
Are they beginning to observe?

有没有启动思考。
Are they learning to think?

有没有勇气表达自己的想法。
Do they have the courage to express their own ideas?

有没有慢慢形成属于自己的审美。
Are they gradually developing a sense of beauty that is truly their own?

线条、色彩、构图、媒材、绘画方法，
我们都会一步一步教。
We teach line, colour, composition, different media,
and artistic techniques step by step.

但技巧是工具，
不是终点。
But technique is a tool,
not the destination.

我们希望孩子学会的，
是如何使用这些工具，
把自己所看见的、所想的、所感受到的，
变成属于自己的表达。
What we hope children learn
is how to use these tools
to turn what they see, think, and feel
into an expression of their own.

因为未来的世界，
不会只需要一个
“把答案做对”的孩子。
Because the world of tomorrow
will need more than a child
who simply knows how to get the right answer.

也需要一个能够观察、思考、判断，
并且知道自己为什么这样想的人。
It will also need someone who can observe, think, and make their own judgements
someone who understands why they think the way they do.

艺术，也许不能决定孩子将来成为谁。
Art may not determine who a child will become.

但它可以陪孩子，慢慢长成他自己。
But it can accompany them
as they slowly grow into themselves.
