🌙 七夕｜Qixi Festival

农历七月初七，是中国传统节日——七夕，又称“乞巧节”。
在传统文化中，七夕源于牛郎与织女的爱情传说。相传，牛郎与织女被银河分隔两岸，只有在每年农历七月初七这一天，才能跨越鹊桥相会。

因此，七夕也被视为一个象征爱情、相思与相聚的日子。
古代女子还会在这一天“乞巧”，向织女祈求心灵手巧，也寄托对美好生活的期盼。

✨ 如今的七夕，除了浪漫与爱情，
也可以是与朋友相聚、与家人分享温暖，
或是为自己许下一个小小的心愿。

愿我们都能珍惜每一次相遇，
也愿所有的思念，都有回应；
所有的等待，都值得；
所有的美好，都如期而至。

🌙 Qixi Festival｜The Chinese Valentine's Day

Celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th month of the lunar calendar, Qixi Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, also known as the Qiqiao Festival.

The festival is closely associated with the well-known legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. Separated by the Milky Way, the two lovers are said to meet only once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, when magpies form a bridge across the sky for their reunion.

Because of this beautiful legend, Qixi has come to symbolize love, longing, reunion, and cherished connections.

Traditionally, young women also took part in “qiqiao” rituals, praying for wisdom, skill, and a fulfilling life.

Today, Qixi is often celebrated as a day to appreciate the people we love and the connections we hold dear. Whether it is romantic love, friendship, family, or simply a moment to appreciate ourselves, the festival reminds us that every meaningful connection is worth cherishing.

and every wish find its way to the stars.

建话，揉捏了热带的骄阳与⻢来语的尾⾳，听起来既
古早⼜市井。⼀句亲切的“Walao”，⼀声不分你我
的“Lu”与“Wa”，是独属于⼤⻢华⼈⾎脉相连的密码。
Strolling under the five-foot ways of George
Town or along the historic streets of Klang, you
will always catch that familiar, heartwarming
greeting: "Jia Ba Buay?" (Have you eaten?). The
Hokkien spoken here is steeped in the tropical
sun and beautifully tinted with Malay inflections.
It is wonderfully vintage, yet incredibly alive. A
casual "Walao", an intimate interchange of "Lu"
(You) and "Wa" (I)—these are the secret codes
connecting the shared heritage of Malaysian
Chinese.

In Malaysia, we speak different dialects and enjoy different hometown
flavors, yet share the same roots. Our ancestors journeyed across the
Nanyang, coming from regions like Fujian, Guangdong, and Hainan, and
built new lives far from home. And so, a diverse yet closely connected
Chinese community was formed.
Ancestral origin is more than just a place; it is history, culture, and a
gentle link between our past and present.
