There was no step-by-step instruction. The students were given the responsibility to make decisions, solve problems, and work through challenges as a team.

Behind every dish was careful planning. Students had to organise roles, manage their time, and ensure every part of the task was accounted for before ex*****on.

What began as a simple project slowly turned into something much more meaningful. It became a space where students had to think, plan, and take ownership of their work.

Rasa Raya Project 2026 – More than just cooking

Over the past few weeks, our students at KingdomHigh have been working quietly behind the scenes on something special.

What started as a simple idea turned into a full project that required:
• Planning
• Delegation
• Time management
• Teamwork
• Responsibility

Each group had to decide:
– What dish to prepare
– Who is responsible for what
– How to organise ingredients
– How to execute everything within time

And today, they delivered.

Not only did they complete the task, they produced beautiful local Malay dishes that truly surprised us.

But more importantly, what we saw was not just cooking.

We saw:
• Students stepping up to take ownership
• Students supporting one another
• Students learning to work through mistakes
• Students gaining confidence in real, practical skills

This is the kind of learning that cannot be measured on paper.

It is not about getting it perfect.
It is about learning how to handle real life situations.

And today, they did just that.

We are proud of every one of them.

Sometimes the most beautiful learning moments do not happen in a classroom.

They happen when a child is given a simple challenge.

At KingdomHigh, when we announced the Rasa Raya Project, you could immediately see the excitement in our students. Ideas began flying around the room. They started discussing dishes, flavours, and how they could present something unique.

Suddenly, the classroom was full of energy.

This is what we love to see.

Not just children completing a task, but children thinking, planning, imagining, and working together.

Some of them were shy when they first joined us. Some needed time to find their confidence. But when given the opportunity, you begin to see something change in them.

They begin to believe in themselves.

Our role as educators is actually very simple.
We show them where they can go.

Once they see it, they begin to walk there on their own.

The questions they ask, the suggestions they make, and the ideas they come up with tell us something very important.

They know what they want to become.

These small projects may look simple, but they quietly teach children some of life’s most important lessons: creativity, responsibility, teamwork, and confidence.

I come from an old school way of thinking. I believe discipline matters. I believe respect matters even more.

When children grow up understanding these values, they carry them for life.

Watching our students grow over time is one of the greatest joys we have at KingdomHigh. Moments like this remind us why we chose this path.

And seeing them step forward with excitement and pride makes us incredibly proud of them.

Sometimes all a child needs is the right place, the right guidance, and someone who believes in them.
