🎲 Why Snakes & Ladders Is More Than Just a Game for Children
As they roll the dice and move their counters, they practise one-to-one correspondence, counting accurately, following sequences, and taking turns. These simple actions strengthen early numeracy, focus, and rule‑following in an engaging, hands-on way.
The game also teaches emotional resilience. Landing on a snake can feel disappointing, but it gives children a safe space to learn about setbacks, managing frustration, and accepting outcomes that are beyond their control. Through playful moments of climbing ladders and sliding down snakes, children naturally learn patience, good sportsmanship, and how to lose gracefully.

What a joyful afternoon at our Legend of the Chinese Zodiac session 🐎🧧🏮
We shared the ancient zodiac story through storytelling, drama, and hands-on craft - watching little ones listen, imagine, create, and laugh alongside their families was truly the highlight of our day.
Thank you to all the families who came, played, and celebrated together with us. ❤️
Our Tuesday Tots explored the letter C through clouds, colour mixing, and chemistry!
First, the children carefully stuck cotton balls in a row to form fluffy clouds. Then came the magic - they dropped butterfly pea water onto their clouds, watching them turn a beautiful blue.
Finally, we added vinegar, and the children were amazed as the colour shifted to purple! 🌈✨
We spent some time considering the right age group for our social play programme and realised that ages 5 to 7 are a crucial window. This is often when children begin gravitating more toward screens and becoming less socially engaged. It’s also the stage when children develop foundational social skills such as cooperation, negotiation, empathy, and conflict resolution.
For our pilot session, five children joined. We began with a simple reflective activity: each child used drawing and colours to express how they felt either yesterday or today. One child drew about a conflict with her younger sister that left her feeling annoyed, while another drew about her day at our centre, which made her feel happy.
Soon after, a real-life social challenge emerged - the children had to agree on a group activity. The options were the dollhouse, ball run, or Snakes and Ladders. They struggled to reach a consensus, so they collectively decided to draw lots. The chosen activity was ball run.
Once they began, the children worked collaboratively to build it, taking turns placing each block and discussing how to ensure the ball’s path made sense and flowed smoothly. (A surprising amount of engineering thinking was involved! 🤣)
Our Social Play Programme happens every Saturday from 3.15pm to 4.45pm (1.5 hours) and is limited to just 5 kids to ensure quality interaction and guided social learning.

Highlights from our Bilingual classes last Saturday 🥰
1. Using sponges and dipping techniques, we created colourful elephant paintings while exploring textures and creativity.
2. Learning about plants 🌱 植物
We explored soil, flowers, and leaves, and created our own plant pots while discovering how plants grow.
3. A kind grandma asked us for a favour. We carefully packed flowers for her to bring home to her granddaughter, who loves flowers just as much as we do!
4. Exploring different types of beans while searching for the hidden elephant in our “jungle,” building focus, curiosity, and fine motor skills.
5. An old elephant came to visit us, and together we searched for food to feed him. A meaningful way to learn through care and imagination.
