We’re delighted to announce that Frank Hansen has been appointed as our new Head of School for this academic year.

Most of our families already know Frank through his previous role as School Development Head, where he has helped shape our vision and strengthen our community.

As he steps into this new role, we’re excited to continue building on our shared values and look forward to this next chapter together.

Head of School Message:

I've truly enjoyed my time at Surin, and I'm excited for what lies ahead. Getting to experience our community and school culture first-hand has helped prepare me for this role, and I look forward to ensuring Surin stays true to its values and keeps putting each student first.

As we enter a new academic year, it'll be exciting to see our children return and experience the upgrades and renewal of our learning spaces.

I truly believe we have something unique to offer as a school here in the heart of KL, and I look forward to seeing Surin and our community continue to grow as we welcome new families into the Surin community.

Over the break, the school has been given a refresh, along with some exciting new additions to our campus. From fresh paint and polished floors to a new treehouse, strolling garden and more, our spaces are taking on a new life.

But spaces aren’t truly complete until our students fill them with their imagination, curiosity and energy. We can’t wait to see them explore, discover and make these new corners of campus their own.

We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming our students back for an exciting new year!

Some of the best learning happens in the most familiar places.

To wrap up their States of Matter topic, some of our Primary students stepped into the kitchen for a fun baking experience.

As they measured, mixed and baked, they discovered how the science they explored in the classroom can be found in everyday moments.

From watching ingredients transform with heat to creating something delicious together, students were able to connect their learning to the real world while celebrating the end of their topic in a tasty and meaningful way.

Though the curtains have closed, the memories of Finding The Beat will stay with us.

We are so proud of every student who stepped onto the stage with confidence, embraced the spotlight and gave their very best. Along the way, they faced unique challenges, overcame their fears and discovered what they were capable of.

Watching our students come together, support one another and celebrate each other's strengths was what made this performance truly meaningful. Each child brought their own rhythm, and together they created something greater than any one person could have achieved alone.

Beyond the songs, the dances and the applause, the greatest achievement was seeing them discover the joy of creating, performing and belonging together.

Our Navigators went out for a pottery class as part of their Meet the Artist exit point 🎨

They got hands-on with clay, shaping their own pieces from scratch and learning how much thought goes into each step. After that, they painted their creations with their own designs, making each piece personal and unique!

Ms Pathma’s class turned Titiwangsa Park into an exciting learning adventure for their topic of weather 🌤️

Students explored open spaces, tracked directions using a compass, and observed how nature shifts around them as they moved through the park. The highlight of the day came when a rainbow began to form by the fountain, what a lucky day! 🌈

Book Week Highlights! ✨

Our students spent the week immersed in stories through different activities. Reading under blankets with flashlights, dressing up and acting out scenes from storybooks for others to guess, and designing their own book covers. 📖

Book Week has officially begun! 📚

We kicked things off with a special visit from the creator of Box Boy, who spent time with our students sharing stories and guiding them through creating and decorating their own mini Box Boy characters, each one full of personality and imagination.

We also marked the reopening of our refreshed library space, ready to welcome more reading, exploring and discovery throughout the week.

A great start to a week filled with stories, creativity and plenty more to come.
