And just like that… a simple question turned into a little phonics lesson. 📚

Sometimes, children’s questions show us just how closely they are paying attention.

They’re not simply memorising words. They’re noticing sounds, comparing patterns, making connections, and trying to understand how reading works.

That’s one of the beautiful things about phonics. ✨

Phonics helps children connect letters to sounds, blend those sounds into words, recognise patterns, and gradually become more confident readers.

So when a child stops and asks, “Why?” — don’t rush past the question.

Pause. Explore it together.
Because sometimes, that little “why?” is where real learning begins. 💛
