Faculty Meetings Bring Your Knitting Poem
Bring your knitting, bring your tea,
For back-to-school meetings, as Waldorf as can be!
We’ll gather in the garden, where the flowers all bloom,
Taking tea breaks in the sunshine instead of a conference room.
We’ll stretch into eurythmy, with gestures and grace,
Moving our bodies through time and space.
Then CPR training, because naturally, of course
We’ll learn to save lives with our rhythmic force!
We’ll sing songs to Mother Earth,
With every heartfelt breath,
Because nothing says “faculty meeting”
Like practicing CPR and contemplating death.
We’ll eat kale salad for lunch
So wholesome, green, and bright
And discuss how to make it
Feel slightly more like a delight.
Then blue veiling painting for healing and peace,
A little artistic therapy before the meeting must cease.
We’ll sage all our classrooms, clearing the air,
Sending old cobwebs and stress everywhere.
So bring your knitting, your water, your tea,
Your eurythmy shoes and your creativity.
Bring your open heart and your Waldorf soul
We’ll make it through the school year whole!
And if the agenda starts feeling too long,
We’ll simply gather in a circle and sing a song.
For this is our calling, our joy, and our plight:
Bring your knitting
We’re getting ready
for school tonight!
