You’ve probably walked past these without knowing their name. We did too.
They’re Agapanthus — “Lily of the Nile,” though the name actually comes from the Greek for flower of love. And they’re quietly doing some of the most important work on our land.
Each one of those white globes holds dozens of tiny nectar-filled blooms — a feast for the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds that keep everything around them alive. They drink almost no water, and their roots hold the earth together along our paths.
Beauty that gives back. That’s the kind of thing we try to plant here — and the kind of life we try to live.
What’s growing along your path these days?
