Por la autoridad de Jābir [

Jazak Allahu Khayran a Ustadh Tariq Mehanna por llamar mi atención a esta hermosa narración ...

Here's part of the process for translating a rhyming English translation for an Arabic poem related to an Islamic science:

1. Provide a literal translation for the Bayt [line of poetry].

2. Study the Shuruuh [authoritative explanations] for the poem to ensure the meaning is properly captured.

3. Reduce the word count of the translation so there is no word-wrap to a second line.

4. Analyze the last word in each half-Bayt to see if synonyms can be found that rhyme.

5. If rhyming is not possible with the words at the end of each half-Bayt resulting from the original translation, alter the sentence structure of each half-Bayt so that they end with a different word in the expression with a more common vowel sound or dipthong.

6. Rhyme the last word in each half-Bayt

7. Next line.

If you didn't address issues with Muslims before they became fighters defending the lands and lives of other Muslims, don't become a Hypocrite by addressing their issues after they became defenders of the lives and lands of Muslims and after they die doing just that.

I'm currently working on a parallel English-Arabic, rhyming translation of Jalal ad-Deen as-Suyuti's 1,000-Line Poem on the Science of Hadith.

It will include the English translation of Shaykh Muhammad bin Adam al-Ithiyubi's explanation to the poem.

Come to find out that Shaykh al-Ithiyubi relied on the great 19th century, Javanese Muhaddith, Shaykh Mahfuzh at-Tarmasi's commentary on the poem.

Of course Shaykh Mahfuzh at-Tarmasi is the Shaykh of Shaykh Umar bin Hamdan al-Mahrasi.

Here is an English-language biography for Shaykh at-Tarmasi:

Yes, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ spent ~13 years in Makkah calling people to Tawheed.

That doesn't mean that the default for every Muslim community in Dar al-Harb/Kufr is in the "Meccan stage" of "Da'wah."

The Shari'ah and Islam were perfected by the time the Prophet ﷺ died. It is that perfect/complete form of the Shari'ah and Islam that every Muslim has inherited and every convert must accept.

There's no "going backward" to a "Meccan stage" of Islam for anyone, ever again.

The only way for a non-Muslim to permanently end his state of war against Allah ﷻ and His final Messenger ﷺ - without becoming Muslim - is to accept the application of the Islamic Shari'ah.

So, why would anything less than full acceptance of Islamic Shari'ah be accepted from a convert to Islam?

Rather consistent trend I've noticed over the years-

A person only completes the Arabic program required for entry into an Islamic university in the ME and they milk that cred for life:

"Diploma, Islamic University of Madina"
"Diploma, Umm al-Qurra University"
"Diploma, al-Azhar University."

Just tell people you only obtained a participation trophy...

Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ would later sourly dismiss Logic as "pompous words which God has made superfluous for all sane people..."

Would you entrust translation of Ibn aṣ-Ṣalāḥ's magnum opus to a person who suggests that Ibn aṣ-Ṣalāḥ had an "ideological handicap" just because of this quote about "[Greek] Logic"?
