"Integrity isn't just about who you don't harm. It's about what you do when no one is watching."
For a while now, when we talk about a lack of integrity in our communities, sexual abuse or facilitators who abuse their power is usually the only thing that comes up.
But integrity reaches far beyond that.
It shows up when someone's words/texts — years of work, years of life, years of experience — get copy-pasted and passed off as someone else's.
It shows up when certifications, years of experience, training hours, lineages, or a teacher's name get invented or inflated, without having put in the real work.
It shows up when an agreement gets signed, a word is given, and then an excuse gets invented the moment it stops being convenient or a better opportunity is found.
It shows up when a "safe space" comes with a high price tag — but the second something goes wrong inside it, there's silence, blocking, pressure, or disappearance.
It shows up when results that can not be guaranteed are promised — and yet refunds aren't offered.
It shows up when someone holds space for others' processes without ever doing their own work — using that space to fill their own need for validation, attention, or desire.
