If you are an UE citizen, please sign the StopFinningEU initiative so it can be brought before the European Parliament. Every year, around 100 million sharks die because of shark finning. They are used in soup in Asia, where people pay hundreds of dollar for this alleged delicatesen.
Remember, sharks are a crucial part of the marine ecosystem. If they disappear, medium sized species would be more predominant eating smaller herbivorous fish, when those disappear, algae grows, threatening the survival of the reef.

Today is World Environment Day. The UN wants to know why Nature is important to you and what you are doing to care for it using the hashtag .
For GREAT BLUE Diving, Nature is important for many obvious reasons. It gives us the opportunity to do something we love and we have the privilege of enjoying an enviroment that not too many people know. Because of this, it is also our responsability to help in the protection of the oceans. These are our tips for actions that everybody can do in their daily lives:
- Avoid use of plastic straws, glasses, plates, cutlery or bags: you don't really need to use the plastic bag from the fruits section to buy a few lemons if you are going to throw it away right when you get back home.
- When travelling avoid the use of toiletries that have a ridiculous tiny size that you use can only use once. It is better to bring your own whenever is possible.
- Be careful with the cosmetics you buy, avoid the ones with microplastics. They are likely to end in the ocean or other waterways.
- If you go to the beach, It is ok to pick up some trash when you see it!
- If you go swimming in a natural body of water, it is much more environmentally friendly to use a good rashguard or SPF rated shirt instead of sunscreen. The scunscreen will wash off, polluting the water, and causing you to burn anyway. Clothing won't wash away and is a much better option for the ocean and your skin.
Time for Nature - WED 2020 PSA This we are inviting you to tell us why it’s time for nature. Nature is on the verge of a breakdown. One million animal and plant specie...

The Splendid Toadfish is entirely endemic to Cozumel, that means that they can only be found in this island. They are very shy and usually they can be spotted under coral outcroppings 💙
The pez sapo espléndido es una especial endémica de Cozumel, es decir, solo se encuentra en esta isla. Son muy tímidos y suelen encontrarse en algún hueco bajo el coral 💙
