When growing up, we all learn to speak and read English the best way we can. Probably, one of the most difficult aspects when learning is to relate what we read with its pronunciation. It is complicated to understand why this language has such a weird spelling, and it is _this spelling_ the main cause of all our problems.
Since the firsts of the Britons, their language has been subdued to constant change both because of internal factors of the evolution of the language and external and cultural factors. These have made the language become what it is today.
In this presentation, English pronunciation is going to be taken into account mainly through the perspective of its people, considering that the socio-historical background is one of the major accomplices for these changes. The beginning of the Angles and the Saxons is going to be a bullet point in the speech as it is in this period when loads and loads of 'strange' vocabulary was introduced into the language that would evolve into what we know today as English. Then, this evolution will be seen throughout history with examples in order to have a clear idea of some of the different Englishes and English today.
To conclude this speech, a moment to comprehend what has been learnt should be taken so that a nice conversation about impressions, comments, thoughts… on the topic could start.
