In the Mixteca Alta, we stay in Tlaxiaco, the district administrative town for the region where Mixtec and Triqui people live. Here, they weave, embroider, farm, raise organic vegetables and fruit, and live traditional lives based on customs and culture. We love it here. Let us know if you want to go on our next tour.

On our Oaxaca Deep Dive Tour we met up with master woodcarver and painter Martin Melchor Angeles in his San Martin Tilcajete workshop. He is featured in the collector’s book Grand Masters of Mexican Folk Art. His work is whimsical and primitive. We loved being with him.
