FAREWELL
Last night, in tired unconsciousness, I had no further qualms about leaving you at the foot of the container full of garbage. I didn't throw you in there, because it was packed and you couldn't fit. So I left them, still forever, and went to sleep.
This morning, you woke up again, still as always and waiting for me, I suppose, like every day. I found them in the same place where I had left them, but the container was already empty and eager to be filled again. I looked at them, old, broken, hand-repaired and tired. And I really felt sorry for you, an immense pity.,,
Who, besides you or me, could know all the kilometers we walked together? The streets deserted at dawn, hot and humid in the afternoon, bustling and cynical at night. Who was with us in the job search, the eternal waits and the appointments that no one attended?
And, I remember being very aware of what would be our years together, when I fell into the insomnia of the roosters that could well be the last time I did it, as well as when I thanked again for having taken me back to my bed without barely know what it had been like.
For this reason, seeing them at the clean bottom of a garbage container has awakened nostalgia in me and also the feeling of abandonment that you, being just old shoes, cannot feel but in my opinion you deserve a worthy farewell from me. . Thank you.
