Nurse Shark.
Unlike many sharks that must swim constantly to breathe, nurse sharks use buccal pumping. They pump water over their gills manually, allowing them to remain completely still on the seafloor.

Blue parrotfish.
Powerful jaws, fused teeth or "beaks", and bright colors give parrotfish their common name. They are among the most common large fish seen on the reef. Their "beaks" are used to scrape algae and polyps from coral and rocks.
Marine worms that inhabit reefs come in a variety of shapes. Some, like free-moving fireworms, are easily distinguished while others that attach to the substrate are difficult to imagine as worms.
They inhabit coral and rocky reefs.
They hide in caves during the day and forage at night for algae and small seafloor.
COZUMEL, MÉXICO
I had the opportunity to take Rick and Rayna from Phoenix on a four-day scuba diving excursion in Cozumel. Every day of diving was exceptional, with the slight chill not detracting from our enjoyment. I've included a video below that showcases some of the highlights from our trip. Thank you, Rick and Rayna, for choosing me as your local guide and Cozumel as your destination.
Cozumel offers exceptional diving experiences. This recent dive with Brian and Randel at Palancar and Cedral Reef showcased the area's diverse marine life.
As part of their natural migratory routes, eagle rays commonly arrive in Cozumel during the winter months, from December to March. These creatures approach the coastline to forage on sandbanks and, more notably, to reproduce in the warm and calm waters, with Cantarel Reef standing out as one of the most frequented sites.
Scuba diving in Cozumel consistently offers breathtaking experiences, as evidenced by this day when we dove at Palancar Cuevones and Santa Rosa wall.
During our dive last week, we witnessed a nurse shark hunting its prey, and before we knew it, it had a sharptail eel in its mouth.
This was amazing to see!!
