Happy to welcome back Texas A&M University's Poultry Science Study Abroad Group!

Texas A&M Biomedical Engineering is working to design a longer-term organ-on-chip system, a 3D cell-culture model that mimics living organs' biological activities. This will increase understanding of the progression and signs of the buildup of fats and/or cholesterol in and on artery walls. This study also compares the drug-tissue interactions in both astronauts and earthbound humans. This research is jointly funded by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.
