🚨 ¡Buena noticia para la lucha ambiental en Hidalgo!
Reconocemos la donación de 20 mil litros de combustible por parte de PEMEX y las gestiones realizadas por la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT), encabezada por la Mtra. Alicia Bárcena Ibarra. Esta acción permitirá continuar con la trituración del lirio acuático en la presa Endhó 🌿💧.
👏 Esta es una acción valiosa y urgente, pero recordemos que **no es suficiente por sí sola**. La remoción del lirio es apenas una parte del problema.
💡Desde el Instituto Mexicano de Tecnología del Agua (IMTA), el IPICYT y otras instituciones, hemos propuesto un conjunto de acciones integrales cuyo informe completo está publicado por el Gobierno de México. Si se implementan junto con la remoción del lirio, estas medidas pueden **resolver el problema de raíz** y devolver salud al ecosistema y dignidad a las comunidades afectadas.

💻Participants will explore the thermodynamics of natural waters and contaminants, focusing on arsenic and trace metals—critical subjects for those interested in environmental protection and sustainability. We'll be using the powerful PHREEQCi tool, a leading software in the field, to model these complex chemical interactions.
The course will cover essential topics such as:
The fundamentals of thermodynamics applied to geochemistry.
Mineral equilibria and solubility of minerals.
Practical sessions on geochemical modeling to address real-world environmental challenges.
