Worldschool San Cristobal

Worldschool San Cristobal High-quality, low-cost edu-tainment experiences. To worldschool your child is to honor our planet as both teacher & classroom.

Our worldschool hub is located off of the beaten path & is a quick ride to a "Pueblo Magico" (magic village) that is pulsing with art, nature, live music & culture. Our children learn all of the professional and social education skills & tools they need for their futures by engaging fully with the world around them - no set curriculum, enforced structures or rote memorization needed. (Though they

can certainly be applied.) Our children's interactions within the 'Pueblo Magico' (magic village) of San Cristobal de las Casas is our learning laboratory. Here, our children can:
~ Develop their Spanish speaking skills;
~ Practice their math while riding the shared transport (called a colectivo) into el centro (the city center), or while shopping in the outdoor markets there;
~ Strengthen their socio-emotional skills through our unique programming;
~ and Experience a rich culture filled with locally sourced food and art. A Pop-Up is a one of a kind experience that all of the participants - children & parents alike - co-create. Our worldschool hub, called Cabaña Paraiso, is located in Explanada del Carmen, a quiet barrio (neighborhood) found off the beaten path. Stroll through a bosque (forest) and across pastures where cows & horses freely graze as rolling, verdant green mountains surround you. Your tuition pays for:
~ Your accommodations (located a off-site a brief stroll away in Panda Viajero. Or, you can pay more to stay onsite in Cabaña Paraiso);
~ 20 hrs with a Spanish immersion teacher;
~ Facilitated activities like yoga, meditation & emotional fitness as well as special events, such as family dance;
~ Some food (E.g. 5 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners - for week-long pop ups only)
~ + more. Week long pop-ups include:
~ 5 days of 1-2 facilitated sessions/day with a mix of child-only learning sessions (nature art, creative writing, Spanish immersion, handcrafting, etc ), adult only (includes 2 nites of babysitting services so adults can go out on the town dancing to live music) & child & adult experiences, like a family dance & field trips.
~ 2 days are reserved for field trips farther afield - such as: horseback riding in Chamula; visiting the graves in Zinacantan; caving & ziplining in Arcotete; volunteering on a permaculture farm in Parque Encuentro; a boat ride through Cañon Sumidero where crocodiles and howler monkeys; + more. Extend your stay another week, or join us for the month +. The longer your stay, the more affordable your experience. Our intention is to create accessible adventures - especially for single parents. Field trip entrance fees/costs, transportation costs, extra food, trinkets, medicine ceremonies (like a sweat lodge/Inipi) etc are additional expenses when you are on-site.
