The Kybalion is one of the most influential books in modern Western esotericism. Published in 1908, it presents the seven fundamental Hermetic principles — , , , , , , and — which, according to the text, govern all phenomena in the universe. Written in a clear and philosophical style, it has become a cornerstone for students of occultism, New Thought, and contemporary spirituality.

Although the book was originally credited to “The Three Initiates,” most scholars agree that the primary author was (1862–1932), a highly prolific American writer and one of the central figures of the New Thought movement. Atkinson wrote under numerous pseudonyms, including Yogi Ramacharaka, Magus Incognito, and Swami Panchedasi. Some researchers also suggest that (founder of the Builders of the Adytum) and (a prominent occultist and member of the Alpha et Omega temple) may have collaborated to some extent, although Atkinson is widely regarded as the main force behind the work.
