This....is a high school girl!
When she clocked 14:57.93 in the 5,000 meters and 4:23.50 in the mile, Hedengren didn’t just set new national high school records — she set new expectations. Timpview High School coach Jaimie Ribera, who has guided her development closely, said it best: “She has done everything to prove she’s the best at every distance.” Those numbers are elite even by professional standards, and they’ve sparked endless comparisons to the greats who came before her. But what makes Hedengren’s rise feel so different isn’t just her talent — it’s her fearlessness, her ability to look at the sport’s current giants and see opportunity rather than intimidation.

Isabelle from my hometown was the top Minnesota finisher at the Big 10 Championship. She is only a sophomore! The team was 7th out of 15.

Running consistently changes everything—not just your fitness, but the way you feel, think, and live.

Physically, it strengthens your heart, lungs, and muscles. Your endurance improves, your body becomes more efficient, and even everyday tasks feel easier.

Mentally, consistent running reduces stress, lifts your mood, and builds confidence. The simple act of showing up—week after week—proves that you can stick to something and grow from it.

It also sharpens focus, improves sleep, and keeps your energy steady throughout the day. Consistency turns running from a workout into a lifestyle—and that’s where the real transformation happens.

Because when you run regularly, you don’t just get fitter—you become stronger, calmer, and more in control of your life.

I think the 800m is the most exciting race in track. It includes speed, endurance, strategy, mental toughness and strength. It is just short enough to keep the fans excited, and long enough to show endurance and strength at the finish. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16SJfi1dFJ/
