Our Story

Much like the passengers of the Minnow who expected a three’hour tour, Sonia came to Puerto Morelos on Valentine’s Day 2015 for what she thought would be an uneventful, relaxing week of Me Time in paradise. She never imagined she’d meet a sweet single father and his two adorable kids on the first day in town. It was your typical girl meets boy, extends trip, quits job, and moves to Mexico six months later story!

As most born and bred Portlanders (Oregon), Sonia was a foodie. And a cook. Marco was trained in the culinary arts, as well as holding a Master’s degree in education. Both were social, energetic types. And thus Doña Sonia and Chef Marco/Catering Puerto Morelos was born!
