Just a quick update on Davidsons in Mexico. We arrived a little more than 2 weeks ago in the beautiful town of Puerto Escondido. During these 2 weeks we met the most amazing, God-reflecting people, who have really crept into our hearts. Although we only know most of you for a few days, we know that we have made friends for life. Thank you for understanding our situation and for supporting us in our decision.
We came to Mexico hoping we could get a temporary visa but it failed to come through. With the uncertainty of what would happen after 6 months, and the desire for our boys to know their roots and to get to know their family that they haven't seen for more than 6 years, we have decided to return to South Africa, indefinitely.
Through amazing generosity from an amazing person, we are able to fly back to SA, leaving on Friday morning and arriving in PE on Monday the 4th of September. So excited to meet up with old friends and all our family. It's been too long!
To everyone who supported us and who became our family in Tasmania, we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you all and just so that you know, you won't get rid of us that easily. We will certainly stay in contact. Ian and Lee; Will and Tracey; Michael an Rhona, Janita; Scott and Katie; Chad and the amazing DCS community, Andrew and Laura, Jeanette James; Tony and LeeAnne, Adam, Annabelle and Ellie. Brodie and Jasmine; John and Vanessa; Gordon and Di and I probably missed a few.. There are just so many wonderful people who believed in us over the past 6 years. You all know who you are.
To the amazing people who we met here in Puerto. Thank you for your love, support and understanding - and also for the Spanish tips. We believe in what you are doing at GEM and we are committed to being part of the team, no matter where we are in the world. Casey, you are an amazing person with an awesome vision. Continue to dream big and to trust God. He will use GEM to reach many people throughout the world.
Daniel and Kristen. You are an awesome young couple who have the most amazing hearts. Thank you for showing us around when we arrived and for joining us for a meal on more than one occassion. Rob, Mauri and the kids. Thank you sooooo much for making James' birthday so special. Thanks for your friendship and for your caring hearts. To all the other amazing people and staff at Manantial. We love you guys and we pray that God will use each one of you to make an impact in the lives of all the kids that you will teach.
So I guess what we are saying: "Davidsons in Mexico" will no longer be in Mexico!
Please stay in contact and God bless.
Mark, Bev, John and James.
