📚 English Grammar Tip: Using “A” and “An”

We use a and an before singular nouns.

✨ Use A before words that begin with a CONSONANT sound.

Examples:
• a book
• a teacher
• a student
• a university

✨ Use AN before words that begin with a VOWEL sound.

Examples:
• an apple
• an egg
• an English class
• an hour

💡 Important:
It depends on the SOUND, not only the letter.

✅ an hour → “hour” begins with a vowel sound
✅ a university → “university” begins with a “yoo” sound

🗣 Practice:
• I am a teacher.
• She has an umbrella.
• He is taking an English class.

📘 Word Detective Challenge!

Donna woke up feeling peculiar. The sun was bright, but the house was strangely quiet.

She walked into the kitchen and noticed a mysterious note on the table.

“Hmm,” Donna murmured. “This is very unusual.”

The note said:

✨ Follow the shiny path to find your surprise. ✨

Donna felt both curious and nervous, but she decided to be brave. She stepped outside and saw small, glittering stones leading into the garden.

As she followed the path, her heart began to pound. Suddenly — pop!

A box appeared behind the big tree.

Donna opened it slowly and gasped in astonishment.

Inside was a beautiful purple scarf and a card:

💜 For Donna — because you are amazing! 💜

Donna smiled with delight. Her peculiar morning had turned into a wonderful surprise.
