The Sharptail Eel (Myrichthys breviceps) is a common, curious snake-eel found in the Western Atlantic's seagrass beds, reefs, and sandy areas, known for its pointed tail that helps it burrow and its yellowish spots on a greyish-blue body, often mistaken for sea snakes but easily identified by its pointed tail tip and finless appearance, feeding on crabs and allowing divers to approach closely.

Did you know that moray eels have numerous, sharp, hook-shaped teeth arranged in multiple rows, with a double jaw (a pharyngeal jaw) that helps drag prey into the throat, making for a very powerful, lacerating, and potentially infectious bite?
