This year, Skanda and Jake spent a week working on the Blue Abyss project that had started the previous year with Patrick.
Originally explored by Krzysztof Starnawski, the TKM restriction (60m/200ft) and the deeper section beyond it (350/106m) had been largely left alone until now.
Our goals were (besides doing awesome dives and seeing cool cave)…
1) Do a thorough, accurate survey of everything down there
2) Search for any going cave
3) Hopefully push it towards the Pit
Bottom times at these depths are not long, and the further the survey got the more travel time it took to get there so we eventually resorted to bringing multiple scooters through the restriction.

The Emergence du Ressel is THE most iconic caves in Europe. At the bottom of “puit 4” (Shaft 4) lies the famous deep section of Ressel, starting at 50m.
After 9 days in France of cave diving and caving, this was a perfect way to end it before Patrick and Jake head to Austria to teach some sidewinder classes.
