Yesterday's group had a truly unique experience while out on a mezcal tour with Alvin.
We usually are able to provide the option for groups of four or more mezcal aficionados, an opportunity to have a brunch prepared by one of the distiller's mothers, at the palenque, a complete meal of fresh Oaxacan fare, or course including hand-made tortillas. This mealtime experience can take place either before or after the ancestral mezcal tasting at the palenque.

Yesterday's #2 photo of the day: In San Baltazar Chichicapam, god-daughter Estela Hernández in the process of making her first batch of conos de lechecilla (puff pastry cones filled with vanilla pudding); when sales of mezcal drop to a trickle, one must seek other ways of paying for necessary expenses, and so Estela is thinking outside of the box.
